my friends are always telling me to wear my hair down and straighten it, but I am not very good at straightening my hair. Does anyone have any other ways I can do my hair?

I have curly, shoulder length hair and I love it. Straightening it takes way to much time and then I'd have to live in fear of humidity.

Curly hair is great because you can jump out of the shower, throw in some product, brush, and be good to go.

You can also do buns, pony tails, french twists, and so many more up dos far more easily than with straight hair. Curly hair holds the style better and requires no teasing and few to no pins to keep everything in place.

You also don't need to damage your hair with things like hairdryers, curlers, etc.. just to get it to not be flat.

Play around with you hair. Try to style it different ways when you're bored. As your stylist how to do simple things like french twists, chignons, and buns (no fancy ones, just the most simple, basic, 30 second kinds). Once you get those down you can try different ways to change it around.

For cuts it'll depend on the type of curl you have but layering can help take some volume out if you have really poofy hair. Bangs can be fun but don't always work with all styles and hair types, and faces. Your stylist can help you here, too, by helping you to choose a style that is realistic given your hair.

Find pictures in magazines and on the web of hair that has a similar curl to yours.

Learn to work with your hair instead of going for straight. Curly hair gets a bad rep but it can look fabulous when you learn how to do it right.

Well, to straighten your hair, comb it straight downwards while using a hair blower near it. Another way is curling your hair instead. Curly hair is easier to manage. After combing curly hair, you just leave it. Because it's curly, if it's pointing at the back, it doesn't matter because it's curled that way! You can also tie your hair into two ponytails or one.You can also braid your hair. By the way, I don't know if these will suit you. You have to see for yourself.

The cutest hairstyle is to take all of your hair from your ears up and throw it up in a sexy/messy style. then take your hair thats down and straighten it really straight and put half of your hair on the left side of your neck and half on the right side of your neck( like ur wearing it half up) then if you have long side bangs or short side bangs, put a little more on one side, less on the other and wear your side burns down if you hair longer ones.

It depends on how much of a commitment to styling you want to do. There are great cuts that will look good with minimal work, and the key to that is a great stylist. I'm seeing alot of pixie cuts that look really cute, if it suits you, go short!
