My left arm has been hurting for nearly a month. Most of the time it feels like I've had a tetanus shot, and I can control it with Aleve, etc., but if I don't take enough Aleve the pain will travel throughout my whole arm and shoulder and shoulder blade and even my left chest. Does anyone have any idea what this might be. Thanks.

This could be due to a lot of reasons.

Let's try the Process of Elimination and narrow down upon the cause, shall we?

That's what a doctor does in diagnosis.

First of all, did you fall or something that could've caused a mild dislocation?

Is it a pain that you get when you move your arm?

Then, you need an Orthopedaecian.

If it's a dull ache that travels, it could be coronory. See a Heart Specialist.

If it's a pain that started after you woke up one day, then, it could be a crimped nerve and you'd need to see a Neurologist.

At any rate, you'd need to see a Doctor; so, why don't you do that, already?

All the best!

Cheers!

Dude, if something hurts for more than a week, see a doctor. It's right on the side of that Aleve bottle.

You are discribing a classic symtom of heart problems and especially since it has been ongoing for this length of time-- you should NOT DELAY in seeking medical attention !!
There are some other things that this COULD BE but, with the strongest of possiblities being that OF a heart related situation--- you would be ILL ADVISED to do anything other than gong immediately and discussing this with a medical professional NOW !!! Heart attack KILLS hundreds of people every day---- don't be one of the "unlucky" ones here !!!! GO----NOW !!!!

I did see my doctor and he quickly rattled off " arthritis" with no concern. My upper arm (bicep area) mainly hurts due to position. However, I am waking up with it's pain over and over. Frustrated and worried. Pain just will not leave. Been this way for about 6 weeks.

This is normally a symptom of Spondylisis. This requires physiotherapy at the lowest level and medication if it is of a serious nature. Nothing heavy should be lifted. Consult a doctor asap. Nothing very serious but very painful in nature.

When we get over 50 we experience so many new aches and pains. Yours could be arthritis, or one of the other itises.
It could also be your heart. You may want to see your dr.
Good Luck.
