I'm so pleased to read your question. I worked for Weight Watchers for 2 years and I met many women who I suspected felt like that but didn't want to admit it. They would start well, lose a few kilos, be getting on great and really understanding the program, and then suddenly for no reason they could explain go and eat half a kilo of sausages or something.
One lady who attended my meetings regularly throughout the two year (and still goes now) is still the same weight more or less that she was when she started. Because I knew her quite well at the end I actually asked her outright, "why are you scared of suceeding?" She admitted it did seem that way but still refused to address the issue.
You have identified the problem which is a big step towards resolving it. Examine your expectations, what do you want the weight loss to mean to you? Are your expectations realistic? If you want to be slimmer, healthier, be able to fit into more fashionable and attractive clothes. Definitely realistic expectations.
Increased self esteem and confidence, yes those you can expect too, partly from the fact that you are slimmer but also from the realisation that you have taken control of that aspect of your life.
To be happier, more fulfilled in your personal and work life. Those aren't necessarily guarenteed, but once you have your weight and your health under control you can look at any other aspects of your life you aren't happy with.
So what would you prefer, to spend the rest of your life wondering if losing weight is going to make you happy, or to lose the weight and find out for sure?

It's hard to answer if I don't know what your expectations are.
A lot of people think that the extra weight is causing all of these problems in their lives, that once they lose the weight, everything will be fabulous and happy. But then they lose the weight, and it's not all sunshine and puppies, they're still unhappy about stuff, they're just smaller and unhappy. It's important to realize that some things may change, but some won't, and it's up to you to recognize what changes are realistic to expect, and what are not. Talking to someone about what your goals are can also be helpful, as they may be able to help sort out what you should and should not expect to see.
Good luck!

Well, what do you expect and why do you want to lose weight? Answer those, and you'll answer your own question.

set small goals for yourself and try to be realistic too..... for example don't expect to lose more than 1-2 lbs. in a week.... it may be more and it may be less..... give yourself lots of time to achieve your goals.....it's better to give yourself too much time than not enough time....
