The foods you eat may cause attacks of gout. They include, but are not limited to, anchovies, herring, sardines, mussels, fish, meat gravies, broth, bullion, fried foods, beans, lentils, asparagus, greens, peas, mushrooms, alcoholic beverages, caffeine, sugar, white flour, some dried fruits and eggs. Aspirin and acetaminophen are known to complicate gout. Penicillin has been known to have problems with side effects as well. You cannot get rid of Gout, but you can try to keep it under control by certain medications prescribed by a Dr. and avoiding these foods.

Gout is a condition where uric acid crystals build up in the body.
This can happen in the area of the big toe and cause a lot of pain.
Our foods contain purines; some foods are higher in this than others.
The doctor may place you on a lower purine diet (of which they will usually provide you a list of foods to avoid. There is also medications that can lower the uric acid in the blood
Here an alternative way to cure gout?

Need to confirm that it is gout first by seeing a doctor
Then prevention is by avoiding foods high in purines ( nucleic acids, which are metabolized to urate crystals that deposit in joints and cause gout) these foods include red meats some green leafy vegetables tomatoes, also alcohol can precipitate attacks.
there are also medication that can be used to reduce irate production in the body , again check with your doctor

I've suffered for years. Younger people now are being diagnosed with Gout - its heraditory unfortunately.m It really is the most painful thing in the world and unfortunatley you have to take a daily pill in order to keep the levels of uric acid in your blood at normal levels.. (Alluplurinal).

My advice to anyone is this - if you have it - take the pill - it wont just go away.

my other half had it a couple of weeks ago. u cant do a lot yourself, u need to get to the docs and they will give u some wonder pills that take it away! they ease the symptoms in a day and then it will go within a few days.

someone said cherries can help it, but u really need to get to the docs and get the pills, i cant even explain how much they helped him and how fast it took the pain away.

if he gets gout as a constant thing every few months the doc will give him pills to take every day, the others are only to releive the symptoms on odd infrequent attacks.

hope it helps, i understand how much pain he must be in x

There are medications available to treat it. A natural way is to eat cherries - even tinned variety.

I think it is caused by acid crystals in the blood and they are caused by eating too much fruit like plums / oranges which are a bit acidy or by drinking too much wine
My mother in law had it and it was very painful - sorry grandad.
