Start by getting lessons to make sure your swing and alingment is good. You need to practice, practice, practice. But, don't practice until you have the lessons so you know how and what to practice. I would continue taking the lessons so... you will have a consistant professional practice time. Sign up for some tournaments and smaller tours. Once you think you are good enough... try for the PGA Tour and see if you make it. If you do.. practice all the time and you will be making good money so put a putting green and driving range in your back yard. You may already be a really good golfer and if you are... then just practice and get into some tournys and small tours. I would just do a lesson to make sure everything is in line and all good. I am saying most of this on a basis that my parents good friend is Joe Durant (PGA Tour Golfer), this is pretty much what he did.. . he isn't a STAR golfer but... he is on the PGA Tour. He said his main factor is that he needs to concentrate more, and he isn't playing to swell lately but... he just had a family tragedy so...
Anyway... that is what I would and that is pretty much all you can do. Good Luck!!

If you really want to be a star: you should be playing off scratch by the age of 14 maximum. You should be winning nationwide amateur events in your teens. You should have a dedicated practice regime that means you're working harder than any 'normal' job. You need talent to burn with serious Big Match Temprement. You actually have an extraordinarily small chance of becoming a star, but good luck....

you have to practice, and keep practicing. golf is all about how much heart you put into it and how much effort you put into it. the more you practice, the better you will be. some people just cant be a "golf star" but if you put everything you have into playing and practicing, you will definitly be playing very well.
