I just stayed at TI at the end of last year. They have a new poker room which should be perfect for what you are looking for.

The room is clean and nice looking with flat screen TVs and nice new tables with shuffle machines. They have $1/$3 no limit and $2/$5 no limit going all the time. Three times a day they have a tournament that normally attracts 20-40 players. The buy in is something like $60 with a $10 add on in the first break. If you get knocked out in the first hour you can buy another seat and try again. They hold this tournament around noonish, in the early evening and one at like 4am. Just call down to the poker room from your room and check on the exact times once you check in.

Since you are already going to be at TI, I would start there. If you want to try some other casinos, pick up a copy of Card Player magazine which is free at the TI poker room (and most other card rooms). In the back it will detail all the other tournaments around Vegas every day.

Treasure Island recently opened up a poker room, and they normally have a 3/6 game running. They also have daily low-buy in tournaments and a low limit no limit game. They have marketed themselves as a good place for beginners.

Also,if you're planning on playing a decent amount of poker (4-5 hours a day) you may qualify for the casinos poker room rate. I don't know if TI has one, but the poker room shift manager will be able to tell you

Imperial Palace, since they have 2-4 tables. If you can walk/drive a little bit more, you can play at Luxor or Excalibur which both have 2-4 tables as well, and they have bad-beat for pocket aces and other bonuses.
