Hey Heather,

The first best way is to register with the adoption register, see the link below. The second way is to persist - no kidding. Newspapers, people finder, and play on the medical as much as you can.

Check with the State you were adopted in as most states have laws regarding medical info release and also have an adoption register for adoptees and birth parents to leave information on and when a match makes it on the list they send out a notice to each person involved. Plus don't give up, I was adopted and my birth mother found me last May. I just got a letter out of the clear blue sky.

Another place I know is:
http://www.pbnreunion.com

It is a free adoption database to leave info or search for info.
Good Luck!

the concentration of the catholic church is gradually shifting from tearing families aside by using adoption to kinfolk maintenance. The catholic charities employer that I help makes each attempt to offer centers to maintain low earnings families intact. they decline to broking provider adoptions (in any different case i would not provide then a penny). If adoption is the only hotel for the youngster, they refer the youngster to an company. although, the perspective in the direction of adoption does rely relatively on the community catholic employer. i'm optimistic that a "google" seek will happen some that still stay at night an prolonged time the place they strip families of their babies.

Maybe the Mormons can help you. They seem to keep alot of records and do alot of geneology research.
