i know that sometimes when you're in a relationship it's a little risky to say "i love you".. most of the time you wait for the other person to say it and respond accordingly, whether you do or not..

today my boyfriend and i were watching tv.. some show on the history channel about the barbarians and what not.. and one guys name was Ethelfrith.. or something like that.. he and i joked about it during the whole show.. but during a commercial we were kissing and stuff and the looked at me and said "i love you ethelfrith".. and i was like, "what?".. because i didn't hear what he said.. and he repeated himself.. and i forget what i said :| but i'm a little concerned......

did i blow over that like it was a joke when it was just his sneaky way of telling me he loves me?.. or was my playing it safe and saying whatever it is i said a good idea?

to be truthful, i do love him :S but i'm just sort of waiting for him to say it first.... did i miss my chance?

You know I don't want to say you blew your chance,he kinda brought it up in a joking moment and caught you unawares. When saying those all important 3 words atmosphere is important so his moment was kinda weird but thats alright because....the positive is now you have your very own way of easing moments. So the next time the moment opens up tell him "I love you ethelfrith" and catch him unawares and see what reaction he gives you.
If he truly meant it when he said it to you then you'll know you will definately know.I am sure he understood after a bit of time and consideration that he surprised you.So you playing it safe was a way of feeling it out.So now its your turn surprise him with it because after all in Love turn around is fair play...

Good Luck with that Ethelfirth,

M.G

That was most likely his way of saying it so that if you rejected him, he could play it off like it was a joke concerning the show.

I think you're safe to tell him and get a positive response.

Give him a letter telling him how you feel. If he takes it as seriously you will notice the difference but answer truthfully if he asks you if it was a joke.
Kind of like a late Valentine.
Good luck!

Just tell him. He and yourself will be wrapt. It sounds like you get along really great. Do it, you have nothing to lose.
