Waiting for the donkey question.

For some odd reason, no. But, then I'm answering a question from a typing squirrel.

Go figure.

depict the continuance on the subconscious plane of the mental and moral conflict in Balaam's soul; and the dream apparition and the speaking donkey is but a further warning to Balaam against being misled through avarice to violate God's command'.

it should be read as an account of a prophetic experience, which are experienced as dreams, or as visions, and consequently, the donkey did not actually speak.

Obviously not, because he responded to the donkey. But 'ye of little faith', your missing the bigger picture and over all message of this story. Because Balaam, was on a path of self-will and self-assurance, which is against the Will of Yahweh; he (Balaam) was not able to see all the bleesings or good which Yahweh meant for Balaam.

So the Angel of the Lord : Notice here ithe word Angel is capitalized, some people believe that this "Angel" was actually Yeshua or Jesus Christ; of course centuries before He had taken on the form of a human. Anyway, the Angel of the Lord stood in Balaam's way, so that Balaam would realize his sins and bring him to repent. Thus, bringing Balaam back in line with Yahweh's Will; in Balaam's life.

If you continue reading through the book of Numbers, we find that Balaam; once he was on the right path with Yahweh. Could actually 'see and experience', all the blessings people are given by Yahweh. This is what happens, in the lives of people; who have a relationship with Yahweh and Yeshua.

They not only 'see' the hand of Yahweh, in everyday things around them and are blessed by Him; but also become the people He originally created us to be -- His Children. Yahweh never meant for His Creation to become 'religious', in other words, following rules, regulations, or traditions; set down by men.

He wants us to have a personal and deep 'Relationship' with Him as Our Heavenly Father and we are His Beloved Children. This is why Yeshua taught us, in the Word of Yahweh (Bible) a prayer; which begins with these words ....."Our Father, who art in heaven ....."

We are incapable of 'perfecting ourself', to the point that on our own strength or 'logic'; can earn eternal life. All of our talents, abilities, and gifts; were given to us by Yahweh. Because, He wants us to be just as 'creative' as He is and enjoy the life He blessed us with on Earth.

(Luke 19:39-40) However, some of the Pharisees from the crowd said to him: “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” 40 But in reply he said: “I tell YOU, If these remained silent, the stones would cry out.”

It is God causing this.
the donkey did not do it by himself.

And "YaHWeH" is Almighty God's personal name. From the Hebrew Y.H.W.H., also known as the ' tetragrammaton' or ' four letters'
No one knows the correct pronunciation, since it has no vowels, but the closest English translation of it is JEHOVAH.
ALMIGHTY GOD and LORD, are not names, but TITLES.
