We do Not hate them. Really.

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another (John 13:34).

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
Such WERE some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

God hates the practice.

(1 Corinthians 6:9) What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men,

(1 Timothy 1:10) fornicators, men who lie with males, kidnappers, liars, false swearers, and whatever other thing is in opposition to the healthful teaching

Stop the practice and you can again be loved by God.

(1 Corinthians 6:11) And yet that is what some of YOU were. But YOU have been washed clean, but YOU have been sanctified, but YOU have been declared righteous in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God.

I am not christian but i will tell you that i dont hate guys , they are human beings & i do have sympathy for what they go through. I dont think anyone would like to be gay, every person wants to get married, have a family & live a normal life. I dont believe Anyone was born gay, i think that gay people just chose the wrong path to walk on. Most gay people come to a point where they reluctant to change even if they want to because they have become part of this way of life that they now choose to follow.

However i do not condone being gay, i think its moraly wrong & it is a sin ( it doesnt matter how many gay peopole try to justify it, i will always believe its a sin) I dont think that i would be so accepting like i am of others if my brother was guy, i would not be able to accept it. If other people want to be gay - its thier choice. as long as its not someone in my family.

People dont hate gay people, they hate what gay people do. Being gay is not normal & it will never be normal. Its just sad to see so many people stuck in a lifestyle that will only bring them pain & confusion.

Not all Christians do. I personally rely on the New Testaments teachings, which do not address homosexuality at all.

If Jesus wanted us to hate gays, don't you think he would have mentioned it?

Those Christians who do believe homosexuality is a sin rely on passages like Leviticus 18:22 in the old testament, that states it is an abomination. However, those same people usually don't have a problem with poly-blend pants or eating shellfish.....so its a bit hypocritical.

I'm not Christian and I have nothing against gays or lesbians.

The Bible states in many areas that homosexuality is an abomination and not to be tolerated. Many churches teach that homosexuality is of the devil and thus a choice that a person makes to ruin their life and forfeit any chance of entrance into heaven.

wow you are lumping all Christians into one big group. I am a Christian and Hating gays would mean hating my sister and I love my sister as much as I love my own children I helped to raise her as she is 12 yrs younger than I am. now I will not agree that some have been deeply mislead and become severely homophobic. however not all are.

the Bible clearly tells us to love one another and that means everyone including gays. So for someone to tell me I am full of it and that I would hate my own flesh and blood is just talking nonsense to me. Sorry. but God loves everyone and gave his only begotten son so that "no one" shall parish no not one. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. too many people in this world have forgotten the love factor. not all of us have.

I dont believe this is altogether true, Im a catholic and dont believe this is acceptable in gods eyes and I dont believe in same sex marriage, after all, whats the point. I think part of the problem is that its become somewhat fashionable to be gay. You see it on tv, from people that have come out and you see it in sitcoms and these are not the right forums for sexuality gay or straight, this flies directly into the face of conservative religious people and they are offended just like the jews or blacks are when you attack them and say its politically incorrect to voice dissenting opinions today, people should discuss these things that bother them instead of forcing others to see anothers viewpoint just because they have the avenues to do so, Im not sure this makes much sense but I tried to answer as best I can

I do not hate gays, and I am a Christian. Jesus loves them too- just because the Word of God states that it is a sin, it does not make me hate them. I pray that they will come to know the Lord and allow Him to make them see their lifestyle is wrong, but we as Christians must love them, as Christ does. Any sin God hates- but He loves the person- and desires them to have a relationship with them.

Speaking personally, it's not about hating gay people. I've known many and been friends with many. I do not agree with the lifestyle or the current thinking that a person is born gay. I accept they have chosen their lifestyle. I know one or two who think I hate them because I don't approve of their lifestyle and have said so when asked. At that point it becomes their problem because I don't have to approve to accept their choice.

It's a flawed belief structure that has been passed down for generations. Hate is nothing new.
