I don't think it's wise to deny yourself of any foods, simply for diet reasons. It's all about proportions. Allow yourself to eat small amounts of the food and tell yourself that you don't have to eat a lot, cause you can always have more later. It's a tough concept, but YOU CAN DO HARD THINGS! It's mind over matter, and it takes practice, but you can do it!
Also, sometimes when you start eating things, what your body is really craving is either sleep or water. Pay close attention to what your body really needs.

Ok, I have this problem too and I have a few tricks I use.
FIrst one, down a bottle of cold water. Then wait a while and see if you still have the craving... if you do, then make sure it is not a necessary craving, like is it time for you to eat anyway? If it is a mealtime for you than eat a healthy meal.
Ok now, if you have just eaten and you are getting a sugar craving (my craving is always for something sweet), then go and brush and floss your teeth. It's weird I know... but I use this to psyche myself out of wanting sweets. Especially since I usually want the sweets at night after dinner... I tell myself that I have already brushed and flossed so if I eat something sweet I will have to do it all over again. It works for me because I hate flossing...HTH

I suggest eating small meals more often. Eat foods like beans, lentils and raw foods, like fruit and vegies which take longer to digest. Do something to keep yourself busy or drink a few sips of herbal tea, water or suck on a piece of ice.

I'm 19 and one word is what all dieting is about: COMMITMENT!
I used to be such a pig, now im vegetarian, I only eat about 600 calories thru the whole day! when i go grocery shopping - my food barely has any fat or sugar in it .. its kinda un healthy but it takes a while to get used to - and I exercise alot !
but sometimes i eat a chocolate bar and i feel so guilty.
just don buy candy or fatty foods and put an image in ur head or a reason to why u wana stop eatin that much so then itll motivate u
