He went of of porn for a year when he was younger but had atleast three porn movies at the start of our relationship, I told him I hated It and hes not watching It anymore, he says he didnt have a porn addiction but growing up he had five at once this to me sounds desperate and like a porn addiction to me or Is It just the norm a young fella growing up.

The basic definition of an addiction is that which a person cannot do without. A porn addict can't live without it. He gives it a lot of importance and places it over everything. Separate him/her from porn for a day and they go mad. That is addiction.
But your boyfriend is able to restrain himself or turn it off whenever he wants to. That is not addiction. It is pretty normal for boys in their youth. Having 5 at once is not good, but at least now he's over it.

That's normal. Having a few porn movies in his possession doesn't make him addicted to porn. When people talk about someone having a porn addiction, they mean that they can't go without it, and even prefer porn to actually having sex with another person. If he can stop watching whenever then it's not compulsive, and not an addiction.
