I know a lot of religions for example LDS, have places that are considered more sacred than others. I am not dissing them, so don't get me wrong, it is just that I come from the background where the people make the church, not vice versa, and no matter where you are on earth, your worship of God is just as sacred and meaningful. I do go to church, but not so God will hear me more, or anything like that, I just do it because it is a good gathering spot for fellowship. But I do know people who believe that having it in a certain place or building makes it more special. Is this more of a symbolic feeling, or a true "holiness" the building has? Any religion can answer, if you feel that the place/building is important, but please give an explanation.

My body and Nature are my temples...the buildings some other religions use seem like just a waste of money that could've been used to help people.

have you ever went into a church and felt the spirit so strong theres no denying that theres something there that you could never deny
or ever prayed at home or in a prayer meeting and felt the spirit of god
we can worship anywhere we choose and share the gospel whereever you go but in the temple or in the church meetings its the best place to be... the spirit in the temple is even ten times stronger than any other place that u can find
its sacred because of the feelings that u feel that is so true
its true it is the people who make the church but its not all
its also about service to others..many people sacrafice their time helping to build church buildings and temples
no one gets paid in the lds church and thats what makes it so sacred service.we worked for our church by donations by members wheither its through time or money or supplies.
we build our temples for special ordinances like baptisms and marriages and for prayer and so on
we keep it the most sacred of all things that we have.

The Temple was holier than other places before its destruction. The Judeo-Christian tradition has a long history of holier-than-there places.
