All my friends have sufficiently replied earlier. I would like to add the following:
Videha is the name of the kingdom but not a king. The rulers are called Janaka. They were great philosophers. They have always felt that they(consciousness) are different from the body(Deha). Sine the kings did not identify with their Deha or body they were called Videha and their kingdom name was derived like that. Sita is also known as Vaidehi because she was the daughter of Videha king Janaka. She was also called Janaki because she was the daughter of Janaka. Her yet another name was Maithili derived from the name of the capital of Videha kingdom- Mithila.

Videha was the kingdom of the royal sage Seeradhwaja Janaka. He is the father of Sita the wife of Raghava Rama. Rama's brothors married the sisters of Sita. Thus Videha Kingdom was closely allied to Kosala Kingdom. Mithila was the capital of Videha, now identified with Janakpur, a town in Southern Nepal. The rulers of Vidheha were called Janakas and they were all great scholars. It is believed that they were the oldest among the clans migrated from the river Saraswati as the river started drying up. They probably were farmers of Saraswati basin. (King Seeradwaja Janaka got Sita from a farm field.) Thus Videha became the seat of Vedic knowledge inherited from the Saraswati Valley Civilization

King Janak (Ramayan fame) was the ruler of videha. This is the reason why his daughter Seeta was also called Vaidehi. However, Internet also refers to King Bahulashva (descendant of Rajarshi Janak) as the king of Videha
Videha was basically the capital of Mithila state

Epic gives another explanation, that the name came from a dead king (Videha, one devoid of body or dead) whose sons were created by sages who performed magical rites upon the kings dead-body. Check out further references in Mahabharata. A videha or a prakriti-laya: both words are beautiful.Videhas and prakriti-layas attain asamprajnata samadhi because they ceased to identify themselves with their bodies in their previous life. They take rebirth because seeds of desire remained

Janak was called Videha because he was a great Gyan Yogi, who had gone beyond his body consciousness and lived in soul
