Sex is not a bad thing - neither is food. But if someone becomes a glutton and they eat so much food that they get fat and their arteries clog... food become a bad thing - you could even die from food even though food is good for our bodies.
Sex can be the same way - there is a healthy way to enjoy it and an unhealthy way. God created sex to be enjoyed as part of a life-long committment of love, not as a plaything to be used to chew people up and spit them out...
Sex is very powerful and it bonds people together so strongly that when you have sex with someone outside of marriage and then you break up, you have scars for life... The idea is to have self-control and don't let yourself be a glutton with sex any more than you would let yourself be a glutton with food...

"Why is sex a bad thing in the christian faith...?
its natural and healthy-good for their mental health and refreshes our bodies...why should they fight their nature"??
Nowhere in the bible does it say that sex is bad. It just says that it was to be done within the context of marraige.
"why do they have to be married"? You have 45 million babies murdered sice 1973 and Roe Vs. Wade and 98% of them were murdered strickly for convenience. If you are going to be living life hooking up in promiscuous sex outside of marraige there are going to be a lot of unwanted babies born and you're going to need a way to get rid of them and so you have 45 million abortions.
"why do they have to be married? can you name any holy people in the bible who had sex out of marriage? i am curious". The bible is a very honest book. It doesn't make it's heroes out to be lilly white and hide all their sins. It tells it like it is. Because some Holy people made mistakes doesn't mean that God said it was OK.

I think that there have been various influences that made the issue huge after the Bible was written.
Two I can name are Queen Victoria and also Augustine. But there are passages in the New Testament that state that sex can be a bad thing. NOTE: In certain situations!!!!! I think that most reasonable people would agree with that whether they were Christian or not.
"why should they fight their nature?? "
Are you really that young? lol
Here the thing. Sex hurts sometimes. It can hurt physically, but I am referring to emotionally and socially. There can be spiritual hurt, but I am persuaded that this is not the time for that with you.
I have witnessed a man responding to his 'natural urges' and was having sex with a cheerleader. Unfortunately he was married. It harmed his marriage and his wife was one of those extremely attractive women who lost the will to live. Sex was still natural I add facetiously. But it hurt him last.
"why do they have to be married?"
Please don't get married. They don't have to get married.
"can you name any holy people in the bible who had sex out of marriage?"
Yes. Judah, King David, Abraham with Hagar (they were called concubines-- i.e. Hagar) , King Solomon ( concubines again) .

Christians don't fight against sex, not just them, but many other people are against the pre-marital relations due then there is a conception and no one wants to get the responsibility that comes with sex, you can't go like crazy having sex with the first one you meet on your path. Perhaps that you have more rights when you are legally married, Why do you think that gays and lesbians are asking for the right to be married? To share all the rights married couples have. You should read a little bit more about this theme, obviously you aren't well informed it about it.

The Christian faith has a high emphasis on living a spiritual life, putting the needs of others and your God above the self and body. Only when we can resist the temptation of the Devil and the flesh will we be prepared to enter the realm of Heaven and be in the company of our Father. However, we humans are imperfect and sexual relations are seen as a necessary evil required to propagate the species. Intercourse and fornication outside marriage are seen as sinful because they do not provide the security of a parenting environment for infants and children. The Faith is just trying to protect us and make for a better life. There is a time for sex, and it is best for two commited people to share in the sacred bond of matrimony. It is the physical equivelant of sharing the soul.

The Bible is the last place one should look for good advice on sex.
King David raped Bathsheba, and then sent her husband to the front lines so he'd be killed. He had nine wives.
Here's a choice gem from Deuteronomy 25:11-12: "If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, 12 you shall cut off her hand. Show her no pity."
There is a lot more. All you have to do is type 'bible smut' or 'dirty bible story' into Google and read what comes up. Lots of weird sex happened in the Bible.
So why are fundie Xtians freaked out about sex? Looks like the sun-baked brains of the guys who wrote the Bible had something to do with it.

Sex is definitely NOT a bad thing in Christianity. We just think of sex as something very very special that is meant to be between husband and wife. We don't think it is just some casual thing you exchange with anyone, but something incredible and intimate and for me at least, generally involving awesome orgasms. So sex being bad in the Christian faith is just a misconception.
Anyways, there are tons (and I mean tons) of people in the Bible who have had sex out of marriage. I don't know what you meant by holy, since it just means "set apart or made right by God", but I guess someone like David might count. He stole one of his buddies wives.

Do what love dictates. The bible is a handbook to residing a life-time of peace and love for all. Marriage is a settlement that legally binds 2 persons with the intention to recieve some reward in submitting taxes. intercourse is mostly a tough undertaking in correlation with the bible/christianity and that i think of human beings could be quite difficult on the whole marriage then fornicate deal. I reccommend examining and actual studying your bible to uncover the answer to this question particularly than taking yet another guy or woman's interpretation becuase the concern is that we've a tendency to accpept the words of alternative individuals as regulation over the e book that actual dictates the regulation. sure people who advised us could have study the bible yet did quite clarify it to us in accordance to the bible interpretation or are they only implementing own morals upon you. recognize the e book and you will then recognize the actuality.

Because Christians, especially Catholics, are brainwashed and will believe anything they are told.
