Every now and then I through a period of a few months where mine flares up then it dies down. I went to the doctor and was prescribed a drug called Omemprazole (may not be spelt correctly) and it did the trick, one tablet an hour before food in the morning and I could eat and drink what it wanted.

You can also buy it over the counter and is taken for heartburn.

I have serious acid problems too. I started with Tums, then they weren't enough, next was pepcid and that helped but took a little while to work. Again, though, that wasn't enough. I am currently prescribed Omeprazole, 20MG pills and that took one time to show how good it was. In fact I took it for a few months or so and now I hardly have to use it at all. If it continues and an over -the-counter pill won't work , I would suggest going to the doctor.

Rich food, red wine and some alcoholic drinks are all causes of acid reflux. Try Pepcid II. My husband has been troubled with this problem for many years and he found that taking one Pepcid II tablet before he goes out and one again before he goes to bed prevents this happening. If you've had an endoscopy and nothing showed up then it's possible you may need a gastroscopy to see if that's where the problem lies. Speak to your doctor.

Oh how I sympathise with you as I suffer with this. I take Indigestion tablets that contain RANITIDINE which last for up to 12 hours. Keep off of highly spiced foods, very sweet foods like jam donuts and strong alcohol. It is better than Omeprazole as this drug can effect the enzymes in the liver and cause Diarrhoea.

this may sound strange but i'd consult with a chiropracter. when the spine gets out of place, it may be putting pressure on the nerve that connects your spinal cord to your stomach and this can cause the sensation of heartburn or nausea

Lidacane cocktail from the ER always works for me! Tastes nasty but it works. Lidacane, pepcid AC and a bunch of other acid controllers. If it's a cronic condition you may need daily meds. Check with your Dr.

Yes, it could be. Even ulcers will do that as well. I have found that papaya pills from the health food stores help very quickly. It can be found at Fred Meyer's as well. Good luck. n
