You might end up directing traffic out in a dusty a** field for a whole division of military vehicles. However, that is an excellent choice to join the MPs because you will gain valuable experience, cause it won't be that way the whole time. Also it will depend on what unit your are assigned to. It will help you a lot if you let the recruiter know that you want to be a 95BF5, not just a 95B. A 95BF5 gets to got to investigator school and become a military police investigator after they complete military police school. Therefore, you can get some investigative/detective experience to help gain more experience.

You do the same things you would do stateside but with more hazards. Youll still write traffic tickets (YES THEY DO THAT ON BASE IN IRAQ STUPID I KNOW) and youll guard convoys do some building searches and you could be at one of the prisons in iraq too. It aminly depends on which branch you join. i know a lot of MP's and AF did all the tickets, army did all the seaches and cool stuff and guarding. Navy did the prisons for the most part

Convoy escorts, patrolling, enforcing military law as it applies to U.S. soldiers, much the same stuff civilian cops do, except in a war zone.
