I met my wife 7 years ago in an internet chatroom (on GeoCities). We were in a room called the Paris Cafe, and we began speaking just as friends. Over the next couple of years, we became closer and closer. Eventually, we began talking on an instant messenger, then the telephone. After a long while, we met face-to-face. Our relationship kept improving, and we ended up married a couple of years later. We are celebrating our 6th wedding aniversary this year and are still madly in love.

Many times, about 2 years ago until late last year. They were usually my mates' old classmates, from their old schools. We'd meet up at times, but the relationship always fails. The fact that it never works is that face to face communication is essential for everything, as humans are social animals. So sure, you can meet someone through the net, but then you'd have to bring that relationship to a non-virtual one ASAP. Also, many people are different characters altogether when they're online, or off. I know of many shy girls whom are not so shy online, and appear cold and distant in the flesh. Some appear very nice online, but are real spitfires and hellraisers when out on a date. So it's important to meet the person in real life on a regular basis.

Well, it's a little early to tell if I am having a SERIOUS relationship with the love of my life IBF, but when it gets really HOT here, you will be the last to know! CRIKY! Get a room or something. LOL Read my question on the same subject, and then.... PAY ME!

the only problem is that long distance relationships can be very hard to deal with. i met a really neat lady online and things went really well for approx 6mos. . we lived approx 1hour apart so she usually drove to my place to relax and have some privacy-she has kids. things went really well until just a couple of days ago -something about i think she doesnt know if she can trust me-which is way wrong. anyway i think the distance and time apart takes its toll. there also seems to be some insecurity issues here too. dont get me wrong -she is an awesome wonderful lady. its just that the distance and time apart can really take a toll.

I met my current boyfriend (of a year and a half) online roughly six or seven years ago. We only met about two years ago, and we didn't put ourselves into an actual relationship until after we had met face-to-face.
We are in a very serious, committed long-term relationship, so it is possible.
