I bought a parrot cage with 3/4" bar spacing, but my bird really is too small for this big of a gap. Is there anyway to make the cage safer? Like zip tying chicken wire or something, but easier and nicer looking??

Thats' a tuf one #1 it will be very hard to clean #2 if your bird is small it might get its toes stuck,

I would try to sell it and buy a new one.

DO NOT put chicken wire or any other wire on a bird cage!

Most are coated in zinc which is TOXIC to our birds. Sell the cage you have and purchase one that has the correct spacing. Otherwise you have a high chance of hurting or killing your bird.

3/8 ' sounds like a cage for a canary. The bars could could be very important or your gray could have that cage aside very instantly. perhaps you are able to promote the cage and order yet another.

Usually you cannot change the bar spacing on a cage because the bars are soldered or welded together.

If you want a cage with different bar spacing; get another cage that has the bar spacing you want.

They have fencing material which are like half inch squares at the feed store Orscheln's, Fleet farm I would get some and they have a tool that wraps a little piece of metal around to attach the metal together it would be a cheap fix. i make cages sometimes and that's what I buy.
