I would think she can leave when she wants; but marriage age is different in each state. If she is 17 soon to be 18 & almost done w/high school, you & she should be able to be together soon; be patient, if she is worth waiting for and you for her.. you two will be fine..:))

You're getting yourself into a very dangerous situation. As an adult, you should understand how dangerous this really is and if her father is hitting her, you should be helping to report this. You're not helping by sneaking her around if you aren't going to try to truly do something. I just think you should realllllly contemplate going to the police about her father hitting her. I hope you're honest about her being a virgin and you being respectful of that. But, as an adult, you should also keep in mind that 17 year olds go through stages all the time. This may seem like a real, loving relationship, but this could be a stage she's going through. This could be her rebelling against her parents or trying to look "cool" to her friends for dating an older man. And for you, this could be a stage after your divorce whether you want to admit it or not. Four months is not long enough to think you want to spend forever with someone either. You should realize this since you've apparently dealt with a marriage that shouldn't have been. Think this through, do whatever it is you know is best for her. I just hope that her getting out of that situation of her father hitting her is something that is fixed, and soon.

iam proud of the love and respect U SAY U HAVE for her thats something cool, but 35 against 17 in love its nothing but u should put in mind that a relationship is not private but also social at times,,its only 4months and things still run smooth as u still trying to give the best of each other but with time things will change and you will be dating a 17 not only in age but in mind u will see that ur mental positions dont match and things will crumble down,,
her parents r right she is still young for what u want her for
also a legal permit to leave home can only be given to her at 21
so hang on in there
true speaking get someone ur age

35 dating a 17 year old? Not creepy at all.... the legal age to leave is 18 - of course I'm sure there are some variances from state to state. But in most states, a child becomes of age at 18.

i'm not sure that it's a good idea. even a mature 17 year old is still a 17 year old... should a 35 year old be attracted to her?? also, 4 months is not a long time to get to know somebody, especially if its always sneaking around... speaking of which, how mature is it to disrespect your parents and sneak around with a 35 year old?? anyway, she can leave home at 17, she can be emancipated, or else face unruly child charges, and to be emancipated she will have to have a job and prove that she can take care of herself. but you still wont be able to get married until she's 18 because i dont think her parents are going to sign for her to do it sooner. when will she be 18??

cradle robber huh. you are TOO old for her, your almost old enough to be her father. there are extremes to how much older than a girl you can be thats acceptable, and that is NOT acceptable, you are trying to take a highschool girl away from her family. if a girl lives with her parents, has no job or a "mall job" and isnt financially responsible or has anything, leave her alone. find a woman your age. you dont belong at a senior prom, she is too young and NOT as mature as you think. if she doent realize dating a man her daddys age is bad then she aint very smart. how many girlfriends/wives/sex partners have you had, what your are doing is wrong. you have had way more partners than her and you are taking away a chance for her to experience life before settling down. let her date around. boys her own age. four months aint ****. you have to be a desperately lonely male to resort to taking minors, either that or just sick. your robbing her of her chance to be a young adult, carefree with her friends and dating boys and telling her friends about the date she had last night... your robbing her of memories and things you do as a teen. bogging her down to you is selfish, and wrong. find women you own age, leave her be.

You've neglected to state where you are from. Laws differ world-wide, in regards to the legal age.
That aside ... sorry, although I don't agree with this GIRL'S father hitting her ... I do agree with their opinion, on her marrying a man who is more than twice her age. My daughter tried the same thing at 17 ... and I'm glad I intervened. She's now a happily married, mother of three ... to a gentleman whose 3 years older than her.

Most states consider 18 as a legal age. That's quite an age difference, why not just be friends. Find someone closer to your age and where you would have more in common.
