Removing your teeth will change your facial structure - until you get a permanent plate. But, getting dentures doesn't make you look old or give you a sad expression - unless losing your teeth makes you sad. A good Prosthodontist will give you a plate that looks and feels natural while maintaining facial structure - as long as your plate is in your mouth. New techniques have been developed over the last 10 years or so and these days, people can walk around with false teeth and have them look so natural that no one even knows they don't have their own teeth.

ELENA,
THE APPEARANCE OF AN AGED FACIAL EXPRESSION IS OFTEN CAUSED BY A POORLY DESIGNED DENTURE.
IF THE DENTURE DOES NOT PROVIDE GOOD CHEEK SUPPORT FROM THE DENTURE BASE THEN THERE WILL BE A SUNKEN-IN LOOK TO THE FACE. MENTION THE CHEEK SUPPORT TO THE DENTIST AND HE CAN RELAY THIS TO HIS DENTAL LAB MAKING THE DENTURE.

I wear dentures & folks actually tell me that I look much better. Sad expression actually sounds like looking like a St Bernard. Don't get worked up. Just be happy & SMILE!

The bone degrades very slowly so it usually takes many years. Try taking a bone health supplement to keep the bone in better shape longer.
