You may suffer from a mild allergic reaction. I have hay fever, very mild, to pollen from grass and trees. I have found that wheat beers cause me to feel the same synptoms as when pollen blooms in the spring. I only suggest this as a possibility as you may not be aware you are sensitive to various pollens from plants. Mild sensitivity is actually coommon in most people but the symptoms are insignicant for the most part so most people do not know they have a sensitivity. Felling "puffy" as you put it, is a symptom of a mild allergic reaction, or a sensitivity, to something in your environment, in this case, something in the beer you drink. Alcohol in what you drink is a diuretic, it tends to eliminate water from the body, dehydrate, which is what causes what people call a "hangover" which is nothing more than the membrane around the brain deing deprived of water. Drinking water in the morning, or better yet, before bed, will reduce the aftereffects to some extent. That, and a couple of aspirin...

Alcohol is a preservative. When you drink, your body slowly puts your internal organs to sleep. This might be the reason you feel "puffy" in the morning.

alcohol makes your body retain fluid. Most people are actually very dehydrated after a night of drinking.
