what he likes, gundam toys. as in those you buy in a box and when you open it, you get a instructions booklet and LOTS of the toy parts. and you build. but they cost more than the money i saved!

There are lots of cheaply-priced gundam toys in the market. OR you could get him something similar but not as highly priced. Battle B-Daman toys or Beyblades are also good options.
