You divide by 1024 (Remember, we're talking Binary here! So from Kilo to Mega is 1024, not 1000)...
So, 2497/1024 = 2.44 MB (rounding up).
1024 is 2^10 by the way...
So...Kilo is actually 1024 bytes.
Mega is 1024 * 1024 bytes, or 1048576 bytes...

1000 MB = 1 GB (gigabyte)
1000 GB = 1 TB (terabyte)
1000 TB = umm...what would you do with all those damn bytes?! : )

Divide by 1000. So the answer is 2.497.
