Think of it like a cut.. For your skin to heal, it needs to scab to protect the wound & that's exactly like a tattoo it's an open wound & your body is trying to heal so it's forming a scab so it can protect it from bacteria, your fine, just apply some antibacterial cream about once or twice a day to keep it clean and moist depending on how dry the skin is, the tattoo will be alittle red around the edges & it will hurt abit until it heals just like a cut would but it hurts alittle more than a cut because it's been stabbed by needles over a thousand times & it's put ink in your body & your body is going to try push The ink out thinking its a foreign thing in the cut that shouldn't be there & it's not meant to be there so it'll try push the ink out but if your tattooist done it properly the ink should stay, A tattoo is an open wound treat it with care & make sure it's clean, wash your hands before touching the tattoo DONT PICK THE SCAB it'll pull the ink out & blur the remaining ink.

i have never had a tattoo begin scabbing immediately. are you keeping stuff on it to keep it from drying out? if you're not then it is likely that your tattoo is going to look pretty bad when it's done peeling. if you are keeping stuff on it then maybe you have bionic skin and are the fastest healer ever. you shouldn't get in a swimming pool or any kind of standing water with your new tattoo for a month. you wouldn't want to risk an infection. believe it or not even tho your tattoo may look healed there will still be openings in the skin where bacteria can get in. i would avoid the water at all costs, but it's your tattoo.

I've never had a tattoo scab up ever and I have three. Two small ones and one medium one. Scabing up is common just remember DON'T PICK YOUR SCAB OR YOUR NOSE!!!! Your skin is suppost to peal when you get a tattoo just let it heal and don't touch it!!! Do exactly wut your artist told you!!! It depends tattoos can take any where between 2-4 weeks or even loger to heal. NO SWIMMING UNTIL THE TATTOO IS HEALED COMPLETELY. When you touch the tattoo and it's all smooth and the lines totally lighten up then you can go swimming a week and a half your tattoo won't be done healing by then bro!!! and remember whn it's heald completely apply fragrent free lotation 4 times daily plus sun screen when you go out in the sun. Your tattoo is also gonna make you itchy I repeat don't pick at it don't touch it just apply lotion.

I promise you, as a person with A Lot of ink, that the best thing you can do is go to a health store or even pharm area o walgreens and get 100% pure vitamin e oil! It is completely natural, no chemicals to react with your skin, no alcohol to dry it out or affect the color, which it does when the tat is still healing and alcohol is almost all lotion. It is the olny thing I use, it is one of the greatest healing treatments in the world for almost any skin issue. You'll hear a lot of other products you can use, but when I switched to the e oil after my 4th tat, it healed in a 4th of the time, lost no color, and i've gotten all my friends with ink using it now. Try it I promise you'll be happy and it may save your tattoo from scarring. Don't pick for any reason, when that scab is pulled off, bits of your color go with it. Good Luck!!

everyone heals differently.. I would keep lotion on it several times a day for a few weeks..
As far as the pool... yeah.. you can go in .. if you want your tattoo to disappear.. the water will soften the scabs and the color will come out.. Usually it's a minimum of a month - 6 weeks before it's reccomended to expose a tattoo to water more than a quick once over in the shower.. ..

My tattoo artist told me that I shouldn't let the tattoo scab up so I keep putting Curel lotion on it, it's important to keep it moisturized. I think it's normal for it to peel though because several of my tattoos did that, just like a mild sunburn, just don't try to peel the skin off before it's ready. I would give it a couple weeks before you go in a pool and make sure to apply some sunblock to your tattoo to prevent fading.

Yea, scabbing is normal, keep regularly applying A+D ointment to it and it should heal up just fine. I'd stay away from the pool, why would you wanna risk screwing up a new tattoo? Ask the tattoo artist who gave you the ink, they're very knowledgeable when it comes to the do's and don'ts.

Scabbing is never really good. Keep triple antibiotic ointment on it(neosporin),thin layer about x a day. With scabbing, your color can come out. I never did scab. My ole man is a tattooist also. Keep it covered in the sun if you are still using ointment. The sun isn't good for new tattoos anyway. I'd cover mine. I'd go swimming and just cover it in the sun. You have anytime later to expose your "new" tat to sun after your ink is set. GOOD LUCK! Have fun!

Well, "dat" is normal. Put skin lotion on it. I'm sure you have "dat". Keep it covered for now, with gauze and tape, and keep it lotioned up. I can't see swimming being a problem, but you should've gotten some instructions on how to care for dat new tat. Call your tattoo guy and ask him. I'm pretty sure your supposed to keep it covered, and keep sun from shining on it. Since swimming in a pool actually intensifies sun rays, I'd think that's a bad idea. Dat's all I got for you.
