I've been traveling weekly on commercial airlines for about six months now, and I've been checking up on some of the questions here. I see when I travel a lot of people taking toddlers on airplanes, and people here asking what's the best way to travel with babies.

I can't stand it when someone brings a baby or toddler on the flight I'm on. They're loud, obnoxious, mischevious, kick the seats, and extremely irritating to other passengers.

Plus, it's really really really bad for the kids, especially young ones. The constant changes in air pressure is painful to them, the place is new, the large amount of people is threatening ...

Why, pray tell, do people expose their children to this environment (and when will airlines figure out that babies don't belong on airplanes)??

Babies do not belong on airplanes. They are dragged along by their greedy, selfish parents who want to travel, when they should be home taking care of the kids. Also, grandparents are suppose to visit the grandchildren, not the other way around. They are probably retired, have more money and the time to travel, and you belong at home taking care of the kids, not dragging them on planes to annoy other people.

Well, the most obvious reason is because they they're just to young to leave at home when their parents take trips. When kids are young, they need extra attention and sometimes, there just isn't someone who parents can trust with their kids back at home for such a long period of time.

Since airplanes are pretty much the easiest and sometimes the ONLY way to get to a certain location [besides a boat which is sometimes a little "out there"], taking kids on airplanes is sometimes the only way.

And not all kids are that loud, or irritating, by the way. I've met some who are the quietest kids I've ever seen. It's actually a little scary! But if worst comes to worst, you could always tell an attendant if you could move to another seat if another one is open. Or get sound-blocking earphones.

So how would you suggest that I get my kids from Wisonsin to Phoenix AZ to visit their grandparents when they were little? If I am not supposed to take them on an airplane which is quicker and easier on a child then spending hours is a car what would you suggest. If the kids are misbehaving when you are on a flight tell the flight attendant and she can either speak to the parents or find you a new seat.

Maybe because they don't want to leave their kids behind???? What do you expect them to do???? Leave their young children at home for your convenience? If you don't like being around children, maybe YOU should find another way to travel. You're the one with the problem - YOU fix it. Children are a part of society whether you like it or not; I hope some day when you have kids (if you find a woman foolish enough to have them with you) that you remember this question and hang your head in shame. How do you think you got here - do you think you were delivered fully grown by the stork?????

You don't know their situations though. They might have a dieing grandmother whom they had never met in a diffrent state. I personaly don't mind babies on planes, then again I never sleep or do buisness work on planes. I usualy just listen to music. If the kid is kicking your seat politly turn around and ask the person the baby is with to stop the baby from kicking the seat, don't be rude about it. It's just something you have to deal with. Sorry.

Because people travel - and airlines are the quickest way to go long distances. As the father of three I find no great joy in travelling with babies - but there are many nessecities in life that are not particularly enjoyable. Deal with it.

Sometimes it has to be done when young families fly anywhere together.Sometimes the parents have no choice but to take the baby or toddler with them.

Babies are people too. Not rag dolls to be left at home. There are necessities in life where you have to travel with your kid.
So quit complaining and travel first class next time.

a lot of people do it because they really love to travel and dont want their baby to stop them, so... they just bring it with them. and airlines have already figured that babies shouldnt be on airplanes but they have decided that stopping babies from coming on board could really hurt their income ... so they just allow it.

hope this helps. peace ♥

Would you suggest the parents send the babies by mail?
