Plain Oreos are available here in Australia, so only send the stranger varieties.

things Americans have sent me include Hersheys Kisses, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, T-shirts from different colleges, Baseball Caps, Candy Corn, Peeps,

do NOT send Pop corn (not allowed in - will be taken by customs)

hope this helps a little!

I would vote for snack food (like chips) and candy. Tastes and flavors are quite different in other parts of the world. Some packs of gum might be good as well.

If you know the hobbies or interests of your friend, a few american magazines might be of interest.

Also, if you can find some CDs of local bands that might make a nice gift. I always like finding music that I wouldn't normally find at home.

give your friend any as long as it's made in usa. most products here are manufactured in china which isn't really good. your friend will appreciate it very much..
