I have known him for about 4 yrs. There has always been an attraction b/w us but he was in a relationship. That relationship ended over 1 1/2 yrs ago. We began dating in October and became engaged in December. We plan on getting married July of 2008. Am I crazy or does love at 1st sight really exist?

Known him for 4 years
Dated for 18months at most
Waiting another 18months to get married

You're on the right track with waiting till you've hit the 3 year mark to tie the knot, but the question of your age remains important.

Alos, if you're asking here, you're having doubts (which is more telling than any other detail).

By the way, if you've known each other for 4 years, it's hardly "love at first sight".

DO you really love this man.....I know you will say yes other wise you probably wouldn't be engaged to him at the moment. but even if u have known this guy for a long time does that mean that you are really able to see yourself living with him for the rest of your life...If you look into the future can you see your self living with him, having kids, growing old....When you are away from him is he all you think about and when your with him you never want to leave and the world is entirely blank....If you can answer no to any of these questions then i suggest you talk to your fiancee and maybe talk about what you are getting your selves into..Marriage is a big step and if he really loves you then he should have no problems if you tell him that you want to wait maybe a year.....

There is also the possibility that he is taking this step so fast is because he might be wanting to get back at his ex-gf even though that was a long time ago it takes a long time to mend a broken heart.

You should see how you are feeling and have a talk with your fiance. I really hope that everything works out for the best with you...And when you get married congratulations!!!!!

Well if you have been interested in this guy for 4 years, you probably are doing the right thing.

Just be sure that you really know his strong points and his weak ones...and love him anyway...and that he knows yours. Marrying your best friend is really the best thing. Do you see him for who he really is.... Any faults you see are not going to change....you can't change him.

Many girls make the mistake of seeing this "dream guy"...and think "I'll change anything I don't like...."...not so. Test out that you really know how he thinks about raising children, handling money, goal for the future, how he treats women..(that's how he'll treat you)...how he was raised (he'll have a lot of that in his training), are his friends your friends...., etc. Find it out now....and it's good that you aren't getting married too soon...that gives you time to be really sure.

Love should not be "blind". It should be clear sighted.

Okay, well first off, you shouldnt be asking people that you dont know whether or not you are ready for something like that, only you and ur boyfriend should know the answer.

second. i do believe that love at first sight does exsist cause im in the same situation as you, except i know im ready to marry him and i dont have to ask the world to find that out.

People like you are why the divorce rate in America is so high.

And the people with the other answers here that are giving you positive feedback, they are the reason, too.

Since 60% of couples get divorced these days, you should expect 60% of these responses to be telling you that it is a good idea to get married. Prepare to be a divorcee.

I think that is wonderful and just go with the flow and you will be able to see from now until then how he is and if you won't to go take a counseling class before you get married

Love at first sight? I believe it exist. But in marriage, its love and commitment that's very important. You would know in your heart and mind if you really want to grow old with that person. Goodluck!
