AS a girl is still high but not that bad. I (male)tried looking it up when i was 18 and just for me it was about 350$! And it depends on what car your driving. Also if its new or paid off. If your parents have you listed as a driver on their policy you dont need to get insurance (meaning that your parents are paying for your insurance)

Parents need to tell the insurance company you are driving the family car and the insurance company will charge accordingly - You can pay the difference in cost but the insurance is in their name. You can get your own insurance coverage when you buy your own car and you should ask the insurance company how much that will cost - you can tell them you are buying your parents car so they will give you a quote.

your parents would need to add you to their insurance as one the insured drivers you wouldn't be able to get insurance on yourself unless the car was in your name
