Is it totally bad to just to completely end a relationship by ignoring them until they get the point, i.e. the person's calls and text messages and avoid them at all costs with no explanation when you have been dating them for several months.

No, it's not. It's cruel, decieving and downright rude. How would you like it if someone just started ignoring you, without giving you a chance to work it out or even giving you the time of day to tell you it's over? Just end it with the person outright, it's quicker, more polite, and less tedious for both of you. The only reason someone would drag it out like that is because they want attention and they gain confidence from seeing that someone wants to contact them but they're 'too good' to contact that person back. It's ridiculous.

My question is why you feel the need to end the relationship this way? How do you feel towards this person? Unless they have done something which makes it impossible to end the relationship any other way, I think the best thing to do is to let them know it is over. It certainly is more considerate to let them know. But if you are scared that the person will not react well, and may hurt you or bother you, maybe you can use this method of avoiding them.

Haha, I hate to say it, but I've done the exact thing several times. No, it is not a good thing to do....would you want someone else to do the same to you? It was actually quite amusing for me, because after about 5 months of ignoring and not talking to my ex, I suddenly got a text message from him telling me that he was breaking up with me...I don't think he got the point...

No its not, I mean cmon picture yourself in their shoes and if they were in yours. Would you want someone 2 do that to you??? just so that you would get the picture that they dont want 2 be with you.
I dont think so... so mate... be honest and tell him that you like him but just not the way that you use to. And end it thats all you have 2 do. It takes alot more work to ignore then it does to say words.
So cmon mate give him the respect that he deserves and tell him you dont want 2 be with him anymore I mean yeah its gonna hurt but its never easy ending a relationship with someone but its gotta happen somehow

All the best and good luck

It sure sounds like a cowardly way to end a relationship. Unless the person is irrational and can't seem to understand a simple conversation or psycho, then they deserve an explanation.

No... that's pretty lame. Whoever is doing that is chickenshit scared of confrontation. I'm trying to think of what movie this is... hmm... Carrie from Sex In The City got dumped by a post-it note. That would suck. Try not to take it personally... you don't deserve to be ignored like this no matter what happened. The boy is just a coward.

I think you should be up front with who you are in the process of ending it. But I admit that I used this method when I was younger, but I regret it now. If you have lost "the feelings" you had for someone, be upfront and let them know. Honesty won't hurt as much as dishonesty in this situation.

It's one way of ending a relationship, but not a very mature way. Get some balls and just tell him/her it's over, it'll be over much faster than ignoring them.

Not to be insulting or anything, but thats one of the worst ways. The best way possible, is to be upfront and honest with them. Otherwise, they will be bothering the living crap out of you until you are forced to tell them the truth.
