Anorexia is dangerous for anyone, especially someone who is still developing. Chances are, your 12 year old friend is not 5'9'' to 5'11'' which is how tall most models need to be now to get anywhere in the industry. By her not eating, she will stunt her growth and never achieve that height, if it's even in her genes. She needs to eat healthy. If she wants to lose weight, she should eat 1,200 calories a day and workout workout workout!!!!! Water is also ungodly important. It will give her that perfect model complexion.

Tell your friend that if she thinks she is fat then she needs help. No girl should be worried about being fat at 12. If her butt and legs are "thick", who is she comparing them to? A model on TV? Magazines? If so she is not being real with her self. YOU ARE 12!!!
Go out and play watch some cartoons but don't obsess over this are you will be sorry before you hit 18. Take a walk with your friend, ride your bikes, do something with her to take her mind off of this.
Peace

you cant just go anorexic. its a real disease that you develop.
in most cases, girls (and guys) will pretend to be anorexic, like they will do all the same procedures.
the problem is that a lot of times, they really do develop the disorder this way. Anorexics are really hardcore and have a lot of self control. anorexics are proud to get through the day with only 500 calories in their system and never had to purge. i know i couldnt do it, i dont have that kind of tolerance for hunger pains.
at 12, she should really just focus on having fun and being a kid. she's got plenty of time before she has to even think about modeling. Just tell her to stay active and eat healthy.

anorexia is life-threatening at ANY age! it can lead to heart problems, liver problems, kidney problems, brain problems, low blood pressure, etc. you will become malnourished which will cause your skin and hair to become dry and brittle, you will get dark circles under your eyes, your hair can begin to fall out, etc.... all of which is very unattractive!
if you deprive your body of food, it goes into a "starvation" mode, and holds on to all of the fat it can... making it harder to lose weight, but extremely easy to gain weight! it will slow your metabolism down. and at age 12, your friend should cherish her metabolism!
some people naturally have bigger butts and thighs. this is genetics. she was born this way... and any amount of dieting will not change it. still, i am sure she is beautiful!
eating healthy and getting exercise is the way to go. there is no substitute for a healthy lifestyle. and plus, your friend is 12 years old. just enjoy life at your age! i would love to be that young again...

don't even think of advising her to do so cuz it's very dangerous. It doensn't matter what age group you are in. Tell her to start a workout program and control her diet, as this is the best solution to loose weight. An eazy way out has alot of side effects in the long run.

It's extremely dangerous to be anerexic at any age!! You can die of starvation from it! This kind of thing happens to people, especially girls (guys get it too), thinking they are fat, when they really are not.
The best thing to do in this situation is find out for sure if she is anerexic. If she is, tell your and her parents!! If you don't know her parents, tell a counseror or trustworthy teacher. This kind of thing must be dealt with as soon as possible! Trust me, she will thank you for telling someone, and for saving her life.

It is dangerous for any person of ANY age. Tell her that she does not need to resort to anything extreme to look good and lose weight. She just needs to eat sensibly and exercise a few times a week.

Anorexia is ALWAYS dangerous.
Try boosting her self-esteem and you may want to consider telling an adult you trust.
Anorexia is a huge mess no one should ever try and go there, it causes a lot of problems.
Anorexia is a waste of time, you should encourage her just to work out more and eat healthier foods.

sounds like she inherited these features, tell her to tone up with exercise and forget about losing weight. Liv Tyler is on a magazine cover this month saying beauty is not the size of your jeans!
