Hi,
What about you spend the whole day with her, and do everything that she wants to do (within reason). When my daughter turned 2 we had corn for breakfast, jelly for lunch and weet bix for tea. She could make all the deciesions, for her special day, and supprisingly she didnt choose to go to MacDonalds. It really gave her a sense of ownership, and she is looking especially forward to her 3rd birthday.
Good Luck!

I think that most 2 year old little girls would love getting:
- age appropriate baby doll (baby bottles and bag too)
- kitchen center (if you spend a lot) or just the accessories are fun too - dishes, food, etc.
- a push toy would be a huge hit: baby carriage or shopping cart or toy vacuum
- pop up tent or tunnel to crawl through
- washable markers or chubby crayons and coloring book
- sturdy books
- large wooden puzzles (like Melissa and Doug make)
- sit and spin
- bubbles (and a bubble maker)
- Anything Dora the Explorer - movies, CDs, toys
- blow up swimming pool for summer
- bath toys
- Magna Doodle
- Musical Instruments (they have really cute ones at Target)

Hope this helps! SD

How about a personalized book? Kids love to hear their name in the storyline. Go to this website http://www.tlc-expressions.com They have lots of titles like Ballerina Princess, Little Mermaid, Sesame Street, Teddy Bear Land, Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, Beauty & the Beast, Sports titles and so many more. Check it out - they're very reasonably priced, and make a wonderful & unique gift... Good Luck!

Well a 2 year old probably won't remember what you got her but the best thing to do is to buy something that is safe and not a choke hazard.
Most children's toys have an appropriate age rating on the packaging

sometimes its the cheapest toys that bring the most fun like a $2 pretend phone to ring mommy or daddy on.
i also found that my 2 yr old loves to play with the rattle given to his 18 month old sister simply because it plays music when its moved. anything like cheap bath toys work well too.

The "fat" washable crayons, coloring books and a tablet of drawing paper. It will provide hours of fun and will help her develop her fine motor skills and creativity. My 2.5 yo loves to color all of the time!
