Me and my friend left our stuff over night in the locker room with our lockers two days ago, and not only us, everybody did this .... There was no sign-don't live your staff over night ...Certainly if you don't have a locker it can't be safe...
But when we came today all the lockers were broken and all the t-shirts, snickers , towels and etc-everything was on the floor in one huge pile.... LA Fitness did it just because it's suddenly occured to them we are not supposed to leave our stuff over night... even with lockers... Of course I couldn't find my new snickers for 80 $ , there was absolutly nothing left.... I'm shocked, my friend too, and we don't know who do we need to complain to and what to do... We are going to talk to the manager tomorrow , because we've been late today and nobody was there....I mean we paid 300 $ for personal trainer together and than 220 $ each for membership...And now we are not sure we want to go there anymore ..

Sounds like high school all over again. I personally recommend 24 Hour Fitness over any gym.

If I were you, I'd take it to the general manager, demand the money back for the trainer and membership. The reason: Incompetency, unprofessional, and unethical. Tell them you understand that they are trying to enforce a rule but treating their clients like little kids will not do it. Say you refuse their service and they do not deserve your money for their bull. And make a point that you are paying them money and they had no right to break your lockers and destroy or put your properties in risk of theft.

I think you and your friend were very rude leaving your stuff in those lockers; at any gym or other workout place the lockers are only for use while you're there, not to store your stuff all week long. This should be pretty self-explanatory, there aren't enough lockers for every person and if you keep your stuff there when you're not even in the building, there is no room for the other members who are actually working out at that time.

That said, they still could've taken your stuff out and put it in a more safe place, kept it in a plastic bag with the locker number so you wouldn't have lost your sneakers.

But don't abuse lockers like this; there probably was no sign not to leave your stuff overnight because it probably didn't even occur to them anyone would even think of being so inconsiderate to other members.

If the lockers at the gym were intended to be your personal and permanent storage area, then there would have to be one locker for each and every member. And I'm guessing that there aren't that many. If you and your friends monopolize those lockers for days at a time, what do you think other people are supposed to do with their things? Or has it occurred to you that there may be people who use the gym when you aren't there?

Gym lockers should be a place for you to securely store your street clothes, purses, etc. while you are working out. But no longer than that.

In any event, you will likely find (and would know had you read it) that your contract with the gym relieves them of any responsibility for your personal items.

I would call the corporate office. This sounds like complete meat head stuff. Corporate employees realize that guys who do stuff like this are a liability.

You weren't supposed to leave stuff there over night but at a reasonably civilized club they would have removed your stuff put it in bags and put it in a safe place until you came back.

Throw a fit. Ask that the staff member be removed or make financial restitution. They will refuse that, at which point I would say that I want $____ prorated to me (tanning, payments, etc).

That sucks. I hate LA fitness and Bally's, go to Gold's, World's, or 24 hour if you have to.
