after reading some of the answers I am in tears..some tears of joy that there are people out there who are just inherently good people, without labels. That you would help a muslim, a jewish person, a christian, an atheist, a buddist, an animal lover, a child, an elder, a lost one, and so on..The fact that we all of our blood is red, and we all breath oxygen and that we have to co exist no matter whar is more important than anything else....I am so happy not to be alone in that..I wish there was a way to hit everybody over the head with that reality..........

There is nothing wrong with just being full of love. Love and compassion are the core essence of religion. I can love you without you being of the same religion as me. My religion teaches that all religions are paths to God, but that one doesn't necessarily even have to have a religion. That when a person looks within their inner self they will discover all the same universal truths that are inherent within the inner self which reveals truth. Whether you call this truth God, Allah, Jesus, Ganesh, Zeus, Kali, Buddha-nature, or Bob...it doesn't matter, it's what you experience that matters. And should you find a religion that you believe best expresses your experiences and choose to identify and practice that religion so that you can further go deeper and deeper into the universal truth, then that is fine. We needn't be on the same path, all the paths lead to the same place because, according to my religion, there is only one place from which the entire universe manifests from and only one place from which it all returns. And if love is your path, then that's okay, too. In fact in Hinduism it's called Bhaktiyoga....the path of devotion and love.
Great question!
Peace be with you.

I'm an apathetic agnostic. Essentially meaning that I think that nobody knows for sure why we're here...so why waste our time worrying about it. I am happy just living whether I believe in a God or not. I think we're probably put here for a reason though...but who knows for sure? Nobody does.
Also, I love everyone...including you. I don't have hate in my heart. I don't need to believe in God to be a good person.
As for what is so wrong with just being full of love? In my experience, some people take advantage of you when you love to much. I have been used and abused from loving too much. It has hurt, but I have found forgiveness in my heart and have learned to love again.
Also...do you realize how many wars have been started over religion? It's absolutely rediculous and sad that people don't realize that we are all the same. Just because they are born in different geographic areas, and therefore have learned to believe in different things while growing up...that is no reason to create war. People should believe what they want and what makes them happy...but they should also respect other people's decisions about religion...no matter how different their views may be. I think people who are very into their religion may be scared to open their mind up and realize that they might not be right. There are so many people in this world...so what if someone believes something different than you do? That does not automatically make them a bad person.
So yes, my philosophy on life is to love and do right and that I will hopefully get the same respect. Even if I don't, I still enjoy making others feel good.
The fact that some religious people hate other people for not believing what they believe...is what drives me nuts! That's the most ludacris thing I've ever heard of!

I have no religion, I'm an atheist.
And I love all people in a way... but as for who you are as an individual, I can't love that until I know it.
I'll say this...
I believe all people have within them the potential for beauty, the potential to change the world for the better, and the potential for being all that is wonderful about humanity.
Therefore, I love the potential that is in you for all those things.

Nothing is wrong with it save possibly that the word love is less concrete than respect or compassion. I see a man begging for money on the roadside and I feel, genuinely, no love for him. But I can feel compassion and want his life to be less harsh for me having been there than if nobody was there. That is, I want my net effect to be positive. Christianity tends to use and re-use the word love for many things whereas Buddhists, the Dalai Lama maybe in particular, use the word compassion. I find the word compassion usually more appropriate.
I belong to no organized religion.

I am an atheist, and therefore have no religion. I cannot say I love you since I do not know you. However, I can say that I do not have any ill-will towards you, and even if you believe in different things than I do, I do not hate you for it.

As a Christian, I love you with a Godly love (agape). We can love, only because he loved us first.
The Bible is, in my estimation, "the book of love."
The 13th chapter of First Corinthians is an excellent description/definition of Christian Love. When asked how to recognize his followers, Jesus said that you would know them by their love.
Christian love is an action, not a mere emotion. It's something you do for another. It is unselfish.
Selfishness is the opposite of Christian love, not hate.

i love you in the real sense that if you needed help i would help you. i would have compassion for you if you had problems; i would give you money if needed. i would give you a ride; all this stuff. spiritually we might or might not make contact. I think real love is what ive listed above. the other kind of love doesnt mean much.

Jesus loves you more than you will ever know, and I love you too. Christians don't have to like the way you live your life, but a true Christian will love you no matter what.

They will tell you they love you but in the next breath that you are going to hell. I am a religious person but I do not like religion. Love and tolerance is what it is all suppose to be about.
