Mom is MOM and cant be a best friend. thats bcos she is too familiar with all that we do to judge it impartially. Moms take their roles seriously and would consider it black mark on their performance if they ever found their children doing things they dont approve. They are more of providers who think every moment of our future needs and so are careful. so they cant be casual in approach like friends.

A friend is someone who is not related to you. Mothers/Daughters have a deep bond, but it's far more profound than a relationship with a "friend". Oh, and I wouldn't tell either my Mom or my friend about anything to do with sexual experiences, that's just WAY too much information, for anyone. Some things should remain private.

Well, with all best friends, there are some secrets you do keep to yourself, but to answer your question, yes. I consider my mom to be one of my best friends. As I have gotten older I feel like I can tell her almost anything. I try not to get into my sexual life, sometimes you just gotta keep that to yourself, you know?

I discuss everything with her. I take care of her because she is my mum. She is my best friend because I believe her.

But, I cant tell everything to her for couple of reasons

1. She doesn't have time for that, you know.
2. She has little attention to give for my things.
3. She has her relatives as a priority.

I can say from my viewpoint that I see her as by best friend emotionally.

I don't think its a good idea to be bestfriends with your mom until your an older women. It takes time for your mom to start seeing you as an adult and asks for your advice more often than giving you hers.
