I am writing an article where I want to say something like "Strawberries, apples, cherries, bananas, and other fruits." Is this correct? Can berries be called fruits, even though there are certain differences between berries and fruits?

yes, the strawberry is a fruit. You would think that the seeds on the outside of the berry are just the seeds, but actully the seeds are ironically the real fruit of the berry, the red is just the root, or stem.

Not only may you call a strawberry a fruit, it actually is a fruit. Botanically it is not a berry. I don't recall the details at the moment why. Seems like it is a hesperidian.

My definition of a fruit is something that is good for you and sweet with all natural sugars. So i definately think that berries ARE fruits.

Yes, strawberry is a fruit. The US government declared a tomato as a fruit because of shipping or taxing laws, not sure, but everyone thinks of tomatoes as vegetables.
