That is a very touchy subject. People react very harshly to their weight. I wouldn't flat-out tell her she's overweight, but just let her know that you're concerned...you didn't mention how old she is, but talk to her about diabetes. Maybe get some pamphlets to read up on first. I'm sure she is already well-aware of the problem...some people just cannot help it...is she going thru some hardships right now? Good luck with everything, and just remember, let her know that you are not accusing her, but that you just care about her health later down the road.

My advice? Keep your pie-hole shut! If she is overweight she is AWARE of it...trust me! She knows what she's doing, she's unhappy about her appearance, she knows that it's not good for her health. As a friend, you need to keep your "helpful advice" to yourself unless she asks for it. You just saying "stop eating it's bad for you" is going to make things worse if anything and is NOT going to influence her to change.
If you TRULY care, simply suggest activities to do together that don't include eating, and are good exercise. Even better, start an exercise and healthy eating regimen yourself and ask her to help you stick with it.

Her being overweight is not a secret. She already knows that. It may help if you tell her how concerned you are for her and that you wish she would make healthier decisions. Even tell her that you are willing to be there for her and are willing to help her through this.

I would make lunch for her so she wouldn't have to eat a pie.
Also take her on walks or some stuff maybe she'll get the hint.
Maybe you could slip some information about health risks of obesity in her house? like anonymously? hmm

You honestly think someone in that condition doesn't think they're overweight? Of course she knows, but sounds like she's not willing to make a change. Nothing you say will change that. Until she's ready, she's who she is now.

There really is no nice way to tell someone they're fat. Does she ever complain about being fat? If so, there's your chance to tell her that you love her and you would like to see her be healthy and happy! If not, you could always take up jogging and ask her if she'd like to join you.

Tell her that. That you are very concerned about her health if she keeps eating the way she does. Tell her if she keeps eating that way, it will affect her life greatly in the future.

if it involves her health (and from what i hear it's very serious), then her feelings are the last thing you should worry about. she probably hears it every day from family, friends, and from her own mind by looking at herself in the mirror, but maybe you can be that person that actually helps her reach that goal.

You should join a gym and have her come with you from time to time and if you go out to eat with her, don't go to fast food places.
