LOVE my mother in law. She is one of the most caring, understanding people I've ever met. She thinks before she speaks, she calls just to say hi and love you, and she never ever tries to give parenting advice or comment on the way we parent. We will be moving this summer to the same town they live in, and we will be living with them for a short time until we get a house. I'm not at all worried about staying with my mother in law, because she's wonderful, and my hubby's parents are so sweet to help us out.

I like my MIL ok, but she drives me crazy. She complains that she doesn't get to see my 16 month old son, but when we are at her house, she MIGHT hold him twice all weekend. She stays in the bedroom and smokes all day. Her house is gross. It smells like cigarettes and dog pee. My nieces and nephew run around uncontrolled. The little boy makes a mess when he goes poo in her house. Once I opened the bathroom door and gagged. He had wiped poo in the walls, rugs, tub, towels, everywhere. Another time, we were spending the weekend and I pulled back the covers - he had wiped poo in the sheets! She doesn't notice because the kids run around unsupervised. I finally put my foot down after the sheet incident. We stay at a hotel. I only take what we have to have to her house. Everything we take stinks and must be washed. My son also gets a respiratory infection every time we go up there.
She also embarrassed me with my dad and his wife. They paid for us to go to FL with them and my mil decided to come down for a few days while we were there. We stayed in this very small, kind of exclusive hotel. She showed up with her married lover of 8 years. They told my dad and his wife he was married to someone else! Then, they proceeded to go their own way and didn't even eat or go to the beach with us. I was so embarrassed.
Another thing she does - she wants my son to call her married lover Poppy! NO Way!
Sorry for the rant.

I love my mother in law and I am slowly getting to know her more. I know that we will get along well in person because my husband says I am so much like her. We never met in person yet (inlaws and I ) because my husband flew to this country to marry me and thats why I love her so much. She trusted me with the heart of her son when she never even met me and that makes me respect her alot.

She ask too many questions and insist on having an opinion about everything. She can't let my husband and I live our own life or let us spend time together.
