Firstly, let me emphasise that what I am asking is not intended to be viewed as muslim bashing, I just wanted to know an answer. We continuually hear that muslims are a peace loving religeon, but they obviously have a percentage (hopefully a small percentage) of their people who think that terrorism in the name of their religeon is justified. Why dont the muslim clerics openly denounce these actions and educate their followers that this is not what is intended in the Koran? I feel that all muslims are guilty if they do not try to seperate themselves and their beliefs from these radicals who are only doing their religeon harm.

The Muslim clergy did speak up against terrorism but you will not hear their voices in the media because if you do you will start to disassociate Islam and terrirosm and this will defy their plan.

The Muslim imams in my community HAVE denounced the terrorist acts. They have come out and said the fanatics don't represent the true views of Islam.

About this last line:
>I feel that all muslims are guilty if they do not try to
>seperate themselves and their beliefs from these radicals
> who are only doing their religeon harm.

Tell me.. why, when asked about Christianity's rather bloody history, do some people say, "Oh, those weren't *real* Christians"? Why don't they follow your advice?

Most major muslim scholars denounced the attacks, however, this doesn't seem to have interested the US media enough.

i have wondered this very thing many times. i will guarantee that if a group of people in the name of christianity were doing acts of terrorism, the christian church would voice very loudly and often their opposition. my feeling is that if they dont speak out, then they at least kinda feel its ok.
