I've listened to his sermons on TV also. They are very uplifting and positive and cause one to really think.
However, some question why he does not preach the whole Bible, only the positive points. I don't have a problem with this as long as what he says is true in this area. I haven't heared him say anything untrue, so its all good.

I'm a christian, but I haven't listened to him much because he seems to preach half the message. The part that alot of people want to hear -- the good news, which is very important, but God said to go forth and preach the entire message -- both the good and bad, meaning the good news about our Lord and the warnings of hell, sin, repentance, etc. The WHOLE Truth! To leave this part out is like a permissive parent who gives much love, without dicipline which leads to confused, lost, and selfish children who live in a me world. They aren't educated about consequences and do not respect their parents. Same way with what I call candy preachers. I do not know his motives and will not judge him, that God will do.

Well all I can say is he is more of a motavational speaker than preacher, he told Larry King he did not know if Jesus was the only way to salvation.
You can go to Larry king and get a copy of the transcript for yourself, because he said many other things that prove he is not out to promote the gospel of Christ. He must have another motavation for speaking.

Intellegent and Friendly.
However he is heavy on the psychology side and light on the scripture side. He usually only quotes or reads one verse out of the Bible.
Plus, in an interview published in the Readers Digest he said that he just wants people to leave feeling good.
If he is preaching the Word of God I do not think that this would be the final objective 100% of the time. Yes it is a decent objective and can be accomplished by preaching the word the majority of the time. But he said this was his main goal.
I do not consider that Biblical preaching.

One of the modern "Religion Lite" pastors who substitute Pop Psychology for religion in order to attract younger worshipers.

Smarmy to the fullest!!!
I am so amazed that people that actually believe that Jesus exist aren't offended by people like Tilton, Robertson, Osteen, Scott. It is horrible how they take money in the name of something that they tout as good.

The main thing that I don't like about Joel Osteen is that he has his own emblem on his pulpit. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me that the ministry is HIS ministry, not God's.

I like him a lot.He preaches a good message, but leaves out the hard stuff.
He needs to preach the full gospel.
But he is good at what he preaches.<><

He's pretty much like all the other mega church T.V. evangelists.
They're a dime a dozen...
But he's laughing all the way to the bank isn't he...?
