I have started 9 new meds for headaches, Bipolar, &UTI within the last week. I started1 on Sat and 2 hrs later I started itching non stop. Well I went to the ER last night because I itched for over 5 hours straight and they told me it was because of the antibotic(Spectra). I stopped the meds and it has been over 24 hours and i still cant stop itching. Well, tonight when I took my nightly meds, 2 hours later I started itching non stop. I called dr. they told me I was fine because I was breathing(exact words, and I have never talked to this on call dr.) but I am breaking skin because it is soooo bad... When I run water it makes it burn and itch. Med list: I just stopped adderall on Thursday cuz caused high Blood pressure, and I stopped ZOLOFT. I am on Topamax, Lamictal, Macrobid, Focalin, Aterex,( I cant remember), Presidone, Vicodin7.5 My med list is down stairs, but I need help I cant stop itching. Could it be something else beside antibotic. I am also swollen, figgity, tremors,n more

You are having a reaction to something you are taking and the fact that you are still breathing (I can't believe a medical professional would say this to you) only means that you aren't having a respiratory reaction. Any medical doctor who is prescribing medications has an obligation to address symptoms caused by them. You could stop taking everything and then take each medication one by one until you find the one causing the problem. Yet, I advise caution because stopping medications without tapering off of them can be more harmful then itching. If you don't have a sensitivity, take some benedryl for the itching, that should work. Then, call your doctor and ask if he or she is planning on addressing this problem or if you should go on ahead and call Jacoby and Myers! Honestly, if your Physician is so sorry that you have to post here to get answers to questions he or she should be answering, you need a new doctor! Good luck.

Stop taking the antibiotic med's and take a Benadryl immediately. Call your regular doctor today and let him know what's happened. An "itch" to a medication is an allergic reaction, you may have a slight reaction of itching one time and the next time have your throat close off where you are unable to breathe. This could be a reaction to one, two or a combination of any one of the medications your taking. If you can't get through to the doctor call your pharmacist for advice. Take a warm bath with baking soda only (no soap) to soothe the skin. Good luck and don't scratch!
As for stopping all medications, that's not advisable. Only your medical doctor can advise you in that regard. My thoughts are it's either the antibiotic or the pain medication. Good luck.

It is hard to know which med you're allergic to if there are 9 new ones! Antibiotics are notorious, but really, it could be anything.
You may be breathing, but if you are swollen and having other symptoms, you do need to treat the allergy, regardless of the cause. Taking Benadryl or another antihistamine may help, but it would probably be safer to go back to the ER. The doctor you see can assess which of the meds you can safely stop until the allergic symptoms subside. I hope you feel better soon.

not to be nosey but why in the world are you taking so many meds? I am looking at your list of meds and it does not make any sense. macrobid antibiotic, topamax used for bipolar mood disorder and ocd ,vicodin is a pain med and i am not so sure about the rest but I can tell you that your brain and liver are on overload and the rest of your internal organs are more than likley inflamed. I would soak in a hot bath ( yes I know it hurts) then apply aloe vera to the itchy area. drink a ton of fluids and try to see how many meds you can eliminate from your diet. but this is most def a reaction to all the meds with vicodin being a large suspect.

If you've stopped the antibiotic, it's definitely something else and you need to talk to/see your regular doctor as soon as possible. Another option would be to call your pharmacist. Also, go online and check the side effects listed for each of your meds. This should help you narrow down the ones that are already known to cause this side effect.

could be hypersensitive reactions, given the breed i may be suspicious of that. Scabby sores close to the backside of the tail is often flea hypersensitive reaction, and it may take only one chew to set it off. If there is scabby patches or thinning fur in this section, then you particularly want something like Frontline whether you haven't any longer seen a single flea (and that they had be puzzling to % out in a thick Cocker coat). An animal may be allergic to something-food, shampoo, pollen... even human dander. it particularly is puzzling to pinpoint what she's allergic to. over the counter flea products are very drying to the exterior, so in case you're using Hartz something, i might end. Oatmeal based shampoos and omega-3 supplementations (fish oil) are sturdy for undeniable previous dry skin. Mange is achievable, yet there is often hair loss in touch. there is two kinds of mange, demodectic and sarcoptic, and therapy for each is diverse. Sarcoptic mange is contagious to human beings, so in case you have have been given some mysterious itchy pink bumps i may be extra suspicious of that. in case you would be unable to have adequate money great vet charges, i'm afraid you have picked a bad breed. Cockers are MEGA services to costly persistent issues like undesirable skin, persistent ear infections, thyroid illness, and dry eye.

Take some Benadryl to help with the allergic reaction.
It is something besides the antibiotic. My suggestion is to take the medicines one by one, and through process of elimination, figure out which one it is.
