No, You're not the only one who's like that. Most young girls prefer older men anyway, that how it's been for a long time. The reason why you have more in common with them is because they've already done what you're still trying to accomplish. I just wonder do you really like them, or is it the father figure you seek? I can't tell you how to like someone your own age, because that's something you'll have to figure out. Just don't be surprised if you feel like you don't fit in with people your own age. The last girl I knew that dated guys who's age difference was that far apart, ended up with a few kids and really bitter.
The only thing I can tell you is not to date anyone exclusively for a while. Stay sharp, don't get caught up, do what you do, and at least try to meet people in and around your age. You can learn a lot from older people, but the bottom line is you'll find out later on when you've realized that you're growing up faster than you anticipated. By the time you're 25 you'll have the ways of a 50 - 60 year old woman. It's your life, and you're the only one that has to live it. Be careful and good luck.

Me and you are around the same age Im 20 going on 21 hehe anyways I have a thing 4 older guys as well. Maybe not in the 40s but in the mid 20s to 30s. They are more fun you learn so much from them then you would from guys our age. Anyways you cant help the way you feel mate cause I like older guys as well and its nothing that I'm ashamed of. I havent dated any guys around the 40s or anything like that but its just who your attracted to really you cant control who your attracted to it just happens.
Your not alone. Ive never fallen 4 a guy in the 40s b4, but I have in the 30s.
I hope that has helped in some ways hehe
My latest squeeze tho is 28. But hes amazing

I'm a gay man.. but I have the same problem.. And I think it stems partially from not having a good relationship with my dad growing up. And part of it is, at least when I was younger, that older people were more on my wavelength since I was very mature for my age. I however, dont have a solution on how to stop it.. I eventually stopped dating. Due more to that fact that I was attracted to people who werent good for me, instead of age.. As you get older.. You might find that the people you're attracted to are closer and closer to your own age.
And no, you're not the only girl like that. If you're that concerned.. ask a psychologist about it. Good luck, and have fun!

Maybe you got Julia Roberts syndrome (remember Pretty Woman...). J/k, you are mostly attracted to a man older than you are because at that age (most) men are wiser and more mature, and in their twenties a lot of guys are just immature. However, I'm sure you can find someone closer to your age that will make you just as happy and shares your tastes. You just gotta put yourself out there, stay away from the old farts, and find yourself a nice guy that can make you happy.

Hey there 21 huh? funny age. No you are not the only girl that does this it's very common for younger women to like older men usually women mature faster than men so basically men are always about seven to five years behind so it's very logical to like older men it's natural. Women look for comfort and protection not a little boy to take care of so rock on girl you are normal it happens to most women especially me.

You aren't the only girl like that. It happens because you may be looking for someone more mature than the people your own age. What you should realize is that there are people your own age or closer to your age that are mature and might be better suited for you than a guy old enough to be your dad.

why should the age be such a factor.. it is just a number! after all if you have things in common with them why not... i have friend that are with older men and they are the same age as you... if its a problem for you then maybe you need to talk to someone abut your concerns.... but really it is just a number.... maybe your after a male figure in your life to protection care for you..... but i really think there isn't anything wrong with that... think to yourself... if they make you happy then whats the big deal? many guys our age aren't at the level of being mature..... I'm 21 too.... and believe me a guy that treats you right take a while to find...luckily i was fortunate enough... but the bottom line... its just a number... isn't it?

I don't know what your malfunction is but girl, you better hope he has lots of money because when you are 40 with an 80 year old man, you're going to wish you had someone your age. You will be soooooooo bored without his wallet.

Most of us feel comfortable with what we find in ourselves that is comfortable. Which means, we "fall" for ourselves. We look for those qualities which we like and which we want to follow. So if you "fall" for guys who are consistently older it may suggest you are looking at something you see in yourself that you really like and respond to it. This is not a bad thing. If you specifically want a younger man, you will find one. You have to be specific in identifying what you want. If you want a certain personality type, that's what you're going to find...even if he's older. So include age in your specifications and it will happen that way.
