contact your local DMV. i live in CA so i cant really give you an address or anything. look in your phonebook, or you could ask friends/family, i bet they could help you!
im not sure about the laws in ny, but here you have to take classes first. you can basically take them whenever you want. when you turn 15 1/2, you can take the permit test, the written part. once you pass [you have 3 tries, and then have to take the class over], you sign up for behind the wheel. [driving with an instructer 3 times] keep in mind, you are only allowed to drive with a licensed driver over 25. after 6 months of that, you can get your license! yay!

Go to your local DMV get a exam booklet and study the driving rules and regulations of your state. Take the permit test. When you get your permit have a good, responsible driver along with you when you drive for the first time and every time while on a permit. After you are comfortable in your driving skills, go back to the DMV and take the driving test. If you pass you will be a licensed driver. Good luck

First off go to the DMV and get a permit, after which you might want to get some practice with someone, learn what the sings mean and your ready. Go and take your test and your all set. Trust me if they give out driver licenses to old ladies in their 80's than you should be fine.

Nothing. YOu know the same as most NYC taxi drivers.
For real start with the website at the state of new york's department of motor vehicles. Then look for a driving school. That will do it for you.

go to your local DMV and pick up a driver's license book to help you study for a learner's permit. Once you get the learners permit, get someone to help you learn how to drive hands on. Then you can go take your test to get your driver's license.

This page should be helpful. It will tell you about the different steps to getting your license, what you need to do for each step, and what documentation you need. There are links from this page to the NY DMV site, in case you need more information.
