Every kid is different. My 3 year old has been to the doctor so much for ear infections that she's basically just gotten use to it. But when she was about 1 1/2 she was the same way, she wouldn't let them touch her or stand on the scale, actually she knocked it over one time she was freaking out so bad. Hopefully, he'll get better but if not you can try to make it fun. A doctor's kit would be a good idea, some doctor's will even blow bubbles or give them toys, either way he should grow out of it. Good luck!

My son is 4 now and he is fine at the drs and dentist but when he was 2 he was a bit more difficult. He also wouldn't get on the scale.
I started weighing myself and then holding him and weighing us both and then subtracting the difference. For his heighth I would help hold him down and they would mark his head and feet on the white paper on the table and then just measure that with a tape measure.
I found that he was bad when he was sick. He just wasn't feeling well. Well child visits went much better. When the wait time was short he was much more agreeable too.
Have the dr or nurse be a little more firm with him and tell him what to do. Normally they'll listen to them better.
And show him the reward basket of stickers or whatever they do. If he doesn't cooperate then he doesn't get the sticker. Stick with it too. Dont' cave at the end and give in.
Good Luck. SD

My daughter is 3 1/2 and when she was about 2, I got her a dr.'s kit and we play with it all the time. For the dentist, we have a great pediatric dentist and there are dvd's for them to watch, chocolate-flavored toothpaste, bubble gum-scented oxygen masks, and prizes for the kids. Even prior to this, she has been watching "Daniel Cook" on the Disney channel and how he goes to the dentist and she imitates the procedures. She even recently said she wanted to be a doctor when she grows up! One of her favorite books I recommend is, "Who's Sick Today?" by Lynn Cherry. It's a rhyming book showing all the different animals getting weighed at the dr.'s or going to the hospital; for ex., "llamas in pajamas". Good luck!

Very normal, at this age almost every time he goes to the Dr, he gets a shot! That man is the most feared man ever right now! It won't last forever but probably another year or 2. My daughter had to get stitches taken out of her forehead and you would have thought they were going to saw her head off the way she was screaming and throwing a fit. When she is sick we get the same reaction to taking her to the doctors. She also doesn't like to take medicine at home, so my newest thing is that "if you don't take this medicine, you won't get better and you will go to the Dr. and he will have to give you lots of shots." She is 4 almost 5, and I have told her that the shots that she gets at the Dr is to keep her healthy because if she doesn't get those shots she will need lots of shots too.
Good luck with him, you can get him more comfortable by just holding him and soothing him while your there.

Get him his own doctor's kit and play doctor with him and his teddy. Get a book. Something like The Bearenstien Bears go to The Doctor. Talk about dentists and doctors being normal people who help out. Worked for my 3 year old.

talk to him before you go. Tell him what to expect and why they do it. Go over step by step. Get a doctor kit and play Dr. Check eyes ears nose and throat. (the nose should make him laugh) Just make it sound like a trip to a friends, who just happens to give shots. Good luck.
Dont forget the power of Stickers as a reward for a good job.

i'm a nursery nurse and throwing tantrums to get issues isn't a thank you to get it!!! you'll be able to desire to be particularly sturdy and thoroughly forget approximately this behaviour that is not ideal.while this happens pay interest on your different babies and actually compliment sturdy behaviour pay little interest in any appreciate on undesirable! while they decline to stroll if its secure go and disguise someplace so which you will see them with any luck this might artwork and inspire them to stroll! potty education is extremely puzzling extraordinarily in the event that they decline nappies too! my advise may be to inspire sticker charts and chocolates or something they decide to do. while between the twins do something on potty or lavatory coach the different and make an exceptionally great deal out of it coach the two one among them the stickers and whoever went to the lavatory receives to %. and positioned sticker on there chart.i think of you'll be able to desire to maintain on with the naughty step this might take an prolonged time to get used to yet you'll be able to desire to grant 3 warnings then positioned them there in the event that they circulate positioned them back and shop on till they have sat there for 3 minutes.as quickly as they have carried out the three minutes they say sorry to you as quickly as they have carried out this go away it and don't point out it back. ensure you're consistent do no longer provide empty threats! I wish you each and every and all of the success in the international and that i wish a number of this enables I genuinely have seen outcomes by technique of using those procedures sturdy success!

I think watching a movie about the doctor works really well. Most popular caroon characters have one. There area also a lot of books that help too.
