I think it's more of a traditional form of worship and Buddha is really not much different than a rabbits foot in one pocket to bring him good luck. That's the way I look at it. How can they put as much love into a Rock!!-- Remember that song "Love Me like a Rock"? How can a rock love?

Buddha is considered a prophet. Not a God. Buddhist are capable of loving all without restriction. Can you say that?

Love at the core is about obedience.

If you LOVE God you will obey his teachings.

If you LOVE Buddha you will obey his teachings.

Some will say they do not worship God. But they infact do venerate buddha through the statues. That is why the burn candles and give the statue food, etc.

It's just a statue, Buddha is dead, so I don't see how I can love him. I respect him, but I have followed his last words:

Atmadeepo Bhava

Be a light unto yourself...

To be fair you would have to say....do the buddhists love their buddha as much as you love your crucifix? God does not reside in statues.....neither does god reside in one religion, faith or path. The divine is in all things.

extremely a meaningless "experience-sturdy" fact. interior the Abrahamic religions, God is, by ability of definition, everywhere in any respect circumstances. he's present the place there is hate, conflict and homicide, this is unavoidable. the comparable is actual real in jap religions that have self belief in gods, i.e., that ultimately god/the gods are present everywhere, no longer merely the place "sturdy" issues are.
