head lice is a big problem ,n having it 4 10 yrs is bad.....here r sum ways i found to remove lice......but you got to do this regularly...give dem a try..

1)Mayonnaise, which is made of oil, egg and vinegar, is also excellent for the hair. In addition, mayonnaise also helps
getting rid of lice. Lice breathe through their legs, and applying mayonnaise blocks their air passage, suffocating them
. (You may not be able to get rid of nits (lice eggs) in this manner though.)

2)You can use petroleum jelly for fighting with lice. You have to apply it on your hair and scalp and leave it overnight, wearing a shower cap. In the morning you can remove Vaseline with the help of peanut butter. Then wash your hair thoroughly. Many nits and lice are killed

3)You can wash your hair with vinegar. After this wash your hair with lukewarm water. You will find best results if you continue this procedure for about four to five night

3)You can rinse your hair with rubbing alcohol. Then you should keep it for couple of hours. After washing your hair, you must condition them properly. You have to repeat this procedure for about four to five days. And you will be surprised to see the results.
4)te tree oil is also a very good option 4 removing lice

you should use a nit comb n clean ur head regularly.wash ur head regularly. lice survive on dirt .try these tips ....

hope this helps.....

I Used To Have Lice, Too. So I Get Where You're Coming From.

Eventually, Your Lice Becomes Immune To Regualr Lice Shampoo, So You Should Probably Go And See A Doctor For a Perscription Shampoo. Another Thing My Mom And I Ended Up Doing Was Dying My Hair, As Hair Dye HAs a Similar Formula To Lice Shampoo.

Another Thing We Used To Have Was Something Called "Neon Nits." It's A Formula That You Comb Through Your hair And It Leaves All Lice And Eggs Neon Pink. It Doesn't Stain Your Hair, And It Makes It SO Much Easier To See The Lice So You Can Comb Them Out. I WOuld Also Invest In Some Metal Lice Combs. They Hurt Like Hell, But They Will Do Wonders.

Also, There Are Furniture Sprays That You Should. Probably Buy, Because The Lice Can Stick To The Furniture For About 24 Hours Without Dying. I Would Suggest That You Do All Of The treatments Right Before You Go Out For THe Weekend, That Way The Lice Can't Jump Back On To You. And I Mean Spray EVERYTHING Down. Carpets, Pillows, Couches, Chairs, Everything. Also, Bag Up Clothes, Stuffed Animals, Etc. In Garbage Bags, So They Wont Live Off Those.

Other Than That, All I Can Suggest Is Doing it The Old Fashioned Way With A comb And A Friend.

It Will Take A Lot of Time And A Lot Of Work, But As Long As You Do Everything In Your Power To Get Rid Of Them, You SHould Be Able To Do So.

First, go get the lice shampoo at the drugstore with the special comb. Second, throw away your pillows and wash all of your sheets and blankets in hot water. If you have stuffed animals, you'll need to throw those away, too. Tell your parents and they should also do the same thing as you. Then use the lice shampoo as directed! If this does not get rid of the lice, then go to the doctor.

Put tea tree oil in your hair and tie a grocrey bag over the top your head for 30 min. thenput your hair over the tub and have someone comb your hair. If you dont have tea tree oil put cooking oil in and do the same as you would tea tree oil.Repeat this 4 times then wash your hair with shampoo and condioner.Get lice spray for furniture(about 3 cans or however much you need) and spray it heavily over your furniture. Then strip your bed and was sheets and ect. and wash it in hot water. Never get walmart stuff over and over again, lice will get used to the poison and won't go away. If you know anyone else who has it tell them and if you are around them and they still have it braid your hair so they can't get to the tips of your hair or the roots.Trust me I had it for 3 years and it worked!! GOOD LUCK!!

I had it for a long time when I was younger, and it was hell.. I reccomend having a couple of days devoted to it. Wash all of your clothes in hot water, get new sheets and throw out the old (same with pillow cases). Do as many lice treatments as you can until those suckers are gone! Don't sleep in the new sheets and blankets (Blankets need to be washed in hot water or thrown away as well) until you are free of lice. Look online for the best treatments out there. Good luck!

Also, you need to basically de-lice everything in your house (Furniture, stuffed animals..) You can buy stuff for that. And of course, throw out your hairbrushes, hair ties, anything related to your hair).

10 years? That is a long time. There are numerous products on the market that you can try. Use the nit combs too. Wash your sheets etc in HOT water. If you've truly had them for a long time, then it's possible you've gotten the nits on your couch etc. So check with your local pharmacist too, they can tell you how to treat things.
If you've tried the over the counter shampoos, then go to your family doctor for some alternate medications. See the website I listed below.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Ooh. I used to have serious head lice. Tea tree oil. It has a strong smell but it's not gross smelling. Just massage it into your hair and put a shower cap on it. Sleep on it or do whatever, but keep it in for a while. Sometimes you have to get one of those kits made for it and comb through it, better yet have someone do it for you. It's gross but eventually it goes away. Wash your hair every single day until it goes away. I hope this helped, I definately have experience in this topic..

Tea tree oil and a nit comb. Comb those bastard out several times a day! Over the counter remedies are mostly ineffective since the bugs are immune to them.

Use hair spray on your hair everyday, they hate that. Using hair spray can prevent them from coming back once you are rid of them.

TEN YEARS? with head lice? Go to the dr. and get a prescription to deal with the lice--they are probably already immune to the over-the-counter remedies. And then you have to actually USE the medication that you get, sterilize all your combs, brushes, and anything else that touches your hair. Throw away all the hair barettes, scrunchees, hair pins, and so on that you've used and buy new ones. Wash all your bedding with HOT water, detergent, and bleach. Throw away your pillows and buy new ones. I got head lice once from an airplane seat. My doctor told me that it is common to get them on planes, trains, and theater seats.

Periodically, my son comes home with a slip called "Uku alert" (we call them uku in Hawaii)--someone in his school has shown up at school with ukus--an we all have to wash our hair with the medicine that we buy at the drug store.
