If you're lucky and the flight has no "complications", it'll take a full day of travel. Usually there's fueling layover in Germany or Ireland or someplace like that. Been to both. Once in Kuwait, you might get to a phone right away or it might take days and even weeks. Once your feet are on the ground, there's alot to take care of and you're exhausted. Each time, it's taken at least a week (and more) to call home. If you're the one waiting for a call, don't worry. They'll contact you as soon as they can.

Flight times vary, we flew from California with a layover in Germany for refueling and crew change then to Kuwait. All tolled it was 26 hours. ( don't remember how long the lay over was)
We had an opportunity to call from Germany and very soon after in processing in Kuwait. (Just remember limited telephones, large number of troops trying to call all at once.)

Monuments and memorials, modern neighbourhoods, true regional flavour this is exactly what Washington, DC is; a location unlike every other; exactly like this website hotelbye . Washington it's your home away from home with free museums and America's front yard. Washington is acknowledged around the world as a image of the United States. Here, the area you cannot miss is the Capitol. Capitol is the seat of the House of Representatives and the Senate. The huge dome, based on the dome of St. Peter's in Rome, stands apart especially other Washington buildings. Like Washington itself, the making has grown through the years since the main section was built between 1793 and 1812. The final improvement, in 1958-62, increased the key façade wherever presidents get the oath. On the other area, a marble terrace offers wonderful views within the mall and the city. The interior is resplendent with frescoes, reliefs, and paintings, specially the rotunda under the great cast-iron dome with a roof painting by Constantino Brumidi and enormous paintings of scenes from American record on the walls.

I dont know how long it takes it depends on layovers and ect. It took us about 20hrs from Texas. When you get into Kuwait you will get some inprocessing briefs (usuall military B.S.) and some paper work then you are sent to your tents. From there what you can do depends on your chain of command. We were allowed immidiatly to go and call home. Kuwait sux and you may have to wait A couple of hours to use the phone for 20minutes. GODSPEED

Last time I went it took about 22 hours. That all depends on the ATA crew and if the plane doesn't break down in Germany. (Hope to god it does, it's an awesome time.)
