My sister named her Dachshund Gertrude and called her Gertie for short which is German. Of course that is a female name so I found a website that has German names that you might find helpful.
These are some cool German boy names that I found; Gunther, Heinz, Benno, Hanns, Guido Purtzel and Wendel.

We once adopted a dachsund that was named Raisin. Didn't really care for the name. We renamed him Rizzo (reminded us of the long sausage called Chorizo.)
My daughter has a dachsund she named Frank. Kinda plain, but it came from frankfurter.
Dachsunds are wonderful dogs. I hope you come up with the perfect name for him.

Stretch? It's hard to name a dog that you haven't seen, because I think when you hear the right name, you'll know it. Maybe try a baby names book, and change them up a bit. We did that with our dog (boy name: Brandon, dog name: Brannigan).

my neighbor's dachsund is named pee-wee. Name him Johnson since he's a weiner dog!

Tanner is a good dog's name. I also knew someone who had a dog named DeeOhGee-(Dog), Pharoah, Lucky and Hemmi. I picked my dog's name just buy the colors he had on him-"tan" so thus the name Tanner was born.

"Romeo", if he's really adorable.Since he is a small dog name him something bold like Thor,Magnus,or Hercules.

but i was also considering oscar, ajax, molly (if it was a girl), benny, and sparky.
