Just curious. Me and my fiance are needing plane tickets to Hawaii in July and a car rental for 2 weeks and are wondering if Priceline is the way to go.

Thanks!

I have used priceline in the past for hotel and airline tickets and was very happy with the prices I got. If you are planning ahead, like you are, you can get a great deal.

The current promotions are listed at http://www.24houredeals.com/priceline-coupons-42-mer.html

Good luck.

Priceline is very hit-or-miss, especially when it comes to popular routes and travel times. Sometimes you can get some great deals, and sometimes you can't. But since it costs nothing to bid, it's worth trying. Some of the negative things about Priceline: you do not know the airline or the plane type till after you purchase; you may end up with some long layovers or strange travel times (the two times I have used Priceline, I've had painful 6am departures, and connections of over 3 hours); you may not get the chance to select your seat in advance, depending on the carrier, or you may be limited to only the less-desirable seats on the plane like the middle of the row. Make sure you know what a reasonable fare is before you start bidding, and make sure your plans are set in stone before you buy; most Priceline fares are heavily restricted. When you purchase directly from an airline, you can change the travel dates for a $100 fee in most cases, but with Priceline, many times you cannot change the dates at all and if your plans change, you lose the money you spent.

Car rental--- priceline does charge some steep fees for processing the car reservation so make sure you read the fine print before you submit your bid.

Price line is a good website - I have used them in past - but not now as I have find something good which offer cheaper rates than them....I am talking about cheapoair.com

On your question - this system was introduced by priceline - where the buyer gets the option of selecting the fare for the ticket - but now this system is no longer in place -

You have to try differently.. All the best for your trip..
