depression is a hard thing to deal with I answer this with some experience. Yes, I do believe that depression can be onset from life altering events, but there is always hope out there. I not only offer my advice here, but I also offer my empathy. Cancer has played a huge role in those that I care about around me, and some depression is expected when dealing with a life altering disease.

It's common for people with long-term illnesses to become clinically depressed. Sometimes it is necessary for them to see a psychiatrist or some kind of councilor. They can help them feel better by just talking to them sometimes, or if it's a big problem then they can be prescribed medicine that will help them be happy.

Yes you can... You can be having a great time in your life and still get depressed! I know from personal experience! Open the windows and let the sun shine in... Clean her house spot free and take her out... that is what makes me happy...

My doctor agreed.

There can be times when the depression is just as bad, even worse some days, than the physical disease itself.
